Vote if you believe either way. Argument for... Unbeaten in 45, never stopped, down only 3 times and straight back up, arguably never hurt. If you believe his chin is less than A grade then please vote and post your argument against. I would suggest posting the name of the fight, the round and the seconds when the 'hurt' took place. hurt = in trouble.
I think he has a top drawer chin. But he's very fast too and is usually able to at least move with punches.
definitely a grade a chin. he's been buzzed a few times. but always stood firm. calzaghe is an attacking fighter as well. so therefore always leaves himself vulnerable to taking punches. he can take it good. :yep
Ok thanks for the reply. Do you believe a fighter is hurt every time they are knocked down? Often they are obviously, but with Calzaghe he gets up with plenty of time, on steady legs and a seemingly clear head, then goes on with business as normal.
Oliver McCall and Vitali Klitschko have grade A chins. Joe's is very good, but not that good. EDIT: Damn lag.
VITLAY?? On the strenght of what, taking a couple of big shots from Lewis? His comp level mean he doesn't have a grade A chin, as does his surname. Calzaghe is on the same level as VITLAY, may have a good chin but hasn't fought enough decent competition to prove it - and the poor comp he has fought has managed to deck him 3 times, that's not a great chin.
Yeah joe has a great chin, never really looked like being knocked out, top 5 chin in the world at the moment i would say, behind toney, margo and hopkins though
Calzaghe has a grade A chin in theory, definately, but he hasn't really been in with anyone with A class one punch KO power. Lets hope that when they eventually get in the ring Roy can roll back the years and grade Calzaghes chin C-.
Ok, so in 45 fights, you would expect a fighter without a grade A chin to be hurt a few times, at least? Can you give me a few examples of a 'hurt' Calzaghe? As for the knockdown I can't see much hurting in Joe... The Bernard KD looked like it was (while being a sweet punch admittedly) mostly off balance. The Mitchel KD may be the best example for his (chin) detractors, but I saw him get straight up, look mildly stunned, then unleash hell on Byron. I must rewatch the Salem KD, haven't watched it for awhile.
