I didn't see it that way, I saw Mitchell going in for the kill against an opponent that was in serious trouble and get caught by a shot, it's happened hundreds of times.

:patsch You don't have a grade a chin when you get floored by a jab.

He went down against Sanders, for some reason the referee never called it. Proves nothing anyway, he fought no-one of note apart from Lewis who he would have gone down against had the referee not saved his eyesight.

    "Hurt badly" by Eubank? When?!

I think his legs were a bit unsteady coming up after the Mitchell knockdown, which was a great punch to the side of the chin but he seemed to recover quickly. Aside from that I wouldn't say he has been hurt. Took some huge uppercuts from Kessler that shook his head, shook them off and carried on fighting - takes a good chin to do that.

Flash knockdowns shouldn't count too harshly when judging a fighter's durability. Especially in Calzaghe's case, because he's always gotten up immediately and gone on to win the fight. And I've never seen him in any kind of desperate trouble. The most hurt I've seen Joe is during the second round against Byron Mitchell, but I never got the feeling that he was close to going out.

He's no Chuvalo, obviously. But I think Joe has a very solid chin. His quickness is a huge asset, because we don't really see him get tagged with big punches too often. So it doesn't matter as much if his chin is less than granite.

Serious trouble is Cotto in the 11th round a week ago

You really think Joe was in 'serious trouble' just before he started beating up Mitchel?

    :think

Yeah ... he gets hit alot and at times he's been hit flush and didn't budge, all he did was fight back.

He's only been down 2wice and has never been stopped ... out of damn near 50 fights, I'd say thats a grade "A" chin.

Even if Roy knocks him out i'd still give it an "A"

Calzaghe was never floored or stopped in 130 amateur fights, either.

A-. Definitely very solid, but not truly tested enough by a monstrous puncher to put him up at the very top.

You have to look at Joes opposition.

LACY ...wa he really a monster Puncher ....fighting Pemberton Shieka

    doesnt prove it.

    Kessler......fought many a shot fighter + Mundine.

He never fought a Jones Toney Mclellan. He was put down by decent hitters like mitchell.

    Toney, Jones, Mclellan Ko him.
