Well he was obviously shot to bits when Lacy got hold of him, and Carl Froch battered him a few months later to just emphasise the point. Reid at his peak would have beaten Lacy senseless, of that I am certain

At his peak he was definitely no ****ing journeyman though. How can a world champion, and a guy that possibly gave Calzaghe his toughest fight, and got robbed and jobbed by that German **** Ottke after schooling him be a journeyman? No, he was much better than that, and those 2 performances prove it. I'd suggest watching them, and you might reconsider

And no Lacy, ain't all that. But then again, who said he was? The American media. Every **** on here picked him. Every media outlet in America picked him, not us. You guys hyped him, so forgive us if we include him on our list of good wins for Calzaghe. The impressive thing was the style in which Calzaghe won

Lacy and Kessler were the only two prime B+ level fighters Calzaghe has fought.

Eubank was old, the rest were C+-ish level. Your Byron Mitchells's, Omar Sheika's etc.

I mean in his last 4 fights - Yes - Kessler and Lacy are good. But Bika and Manfredo - C level or below fighters.

Yes, Bika is C level and gave Calzaghe a very hard fight.

Imagine whats in store with Hopkins.

Joe has never meet an A level fighter. They are all B's and C's.

LMFAO if you think Sheika or Woods is anywhere near Eubank you really are talking nonsense. Eubank takes those guys out easily. Have you even seen him fight? I would take off your star spangled specs and stop watching youtube compilations of boxing.

Eubank much much > sheika and woods.

Yeah Reid was a shot journeyman when fighting calzaghe :rofl:rofl:rofl

Is there no limit to your unknowledge?

Eubanks is nto and has never been anyone's ELITE fighter.

Only in the minds of those who wish to elevate him as they sadly try to do for a Lacy or Kessler.
Eubanks > Kessler, but still no ATG.

    Tarver > Kessler
    Taylor > Kessler
    Eastman > Kessler
    Trinidad > Kessler
    Johnson > Kessler

    Nuff said.
Calzanghe has fought a nobody and that's his greatest claim to fame.

    Kessler > Eastman
    Kessler > Trinidad
    Kessler > Taylor
Prime Johnson is a tough fight.

Trinidad > Kessler? You do remember the blown up trinidad jones fight?

WTF? Kessler is a very good fighter and would kick Tarver's, Eastman's and Trinidad's asses. That would be an easy money bet. And I am a big Tarver fan.

Why don't you just come out and say you hate Calzaghe because he doesn't look like you? It is OK, come out of the closet.

Calzaghe's best wins are Eubank, Reid, Lacy, and Kessler.

Now that resume would be solid...if it didn't span over a DECADE.

4 big wins over a decade is OK, but not ATG, especially since Eubank is the only current HOF-caliber fighter on that list (Reid has no shot at it, Lacy looks like he's done, and Kessler is the only one who has a chance of joining Eubank in HOF territory one day it seems).

And yes, the majority of people picked Lacy to win that fight. This is true.

I liken Lacy to John "The Beast" Mugabi, an up-and-coming KO artist who didn't get it done.

Here's the difference, though. Marvin Hagler didn't hold onto his win over a CONTENDER like Mugabi for dear life. The Marvelous One had also beat Hearns, Duran, and a parade of Hall of Fame competition.

Again, credit to JC for beating Lacy and Kessler, but for someone who has claimed to be Top 3 P4P, that's all he can claim for the past 5-7 years?

Michael Watson got robbed in there first fight and also KO'd Eubank in the 2nd until Eubank landed IMO one of the luckest punches in boxing history.

And if Eubank was so great Watson wouldn't have gave him that much trouble. Mike McCallum took Watson apart easily and stopped him in 11.

Eubanks was over the hill and weight drained when he fought Calslappy. The good news for the Brit is that is Hopkins is over the hill AND badly overrated. Bernard's big wins were against smaller guys way out of their weight range, and Tarver who was drained as ****. He couldn't best Taylor over 24 rounds and Jermain is no superstar.
Calzaghe slaps the **** outta Bernard.
