Taylor gave bernard a lot of problems. Some people just won't admit it. Hopkins himself won't give Jermain any credit either. That's a sore loser right there.

Trinidad was always over rated. Hopkins' win over him was no surprise. I'm glad he beat him too.

He headbutted Winky early on. The cut bothered Winky for the remainder of the fight and there's no way he could box at his best. Winky is also a junior middleweight.

Oscar has no business at 160.

Now look at the pattern of this: the strongest survived. And Calzaghe is a big super middleweight / light heavy who walks around at 196 pounds. Bernard won't hurt him.

Manfredo is an idiot. If you don't throw back you get the fight stopped. It's a pretty ****ing simple rule!

"I was waiting for him to tire!" ~ Mr. P. Manfredo

Manfredo is a goddamn BUM, for starters. We can't seriously discuss quality of Bernard's opposition and Manfredo in the same thread.

Agreed. I think it was premature, but honestly you need to at least try to throw a punch to show the referee you're still awake there. And against Mitchell, man there was a spot in the first round when Calzaghe was just landing unanswered shots to the head when the ref probably could have stepped in.

PS I really don't have any strong feelings toward Calzaghe and am by no means a nuthugger.

What fight have you seen him take alot of punishment? Granted he's been knocked down but never beaten to a pulp. The fight against Bika was the first time he'd even been cut. That guy doesn't get hit much.

I agree man. Whatever. Calzaghe only took the fight because of the payday and the name recognition in the USA. He didn't even want to fight Manfredo but I can understand why he did. I can't blame him for doing that. We know he's been after the bigger fights for years and unless there's a challenge he doesn't get up for a fight. He's been chasing Hopkins for the last ten years too. Joe has had a loooong time to come up with a strategy for this next one.

Hopkins claim to fame was fighting guys smaller than him ...
He's a H.O.F'er but he's not amoung the elite middleweights of all times. I think its great that he's had over 20 defenses but I can't name more than two opponents during his reign.

Considering Calzaghe likes to get stuck in, he has great defence. I think he only realised himself what a good fighter he is since he fought Lacy and Kessler. He has adapted his style as he gets older, paces himself well and will stop BHop within 7
