thats a sweeping statement but you're posting your preferences and i doubt so many americans - or non-americans - would call calzaghe 'great'. you have to dare to be great....
No, Calzaghe is a great fighter and I am quite confident that the majority of American fight fans would agree. Dare to be great? That has to be a joke, in taking on both Lacy and Kessler alone he was taking on two men who were supposedly the future of 168lb fighting, both young, both fit, both big punchers, both in their prime, both comprehensively beaten.
Kessler, thus far, has proven to be utterly undynamic. In boxing terms explain why you think he would defeat Dawson.
The americans wll never accept a british boxer as a true great. Lennox Lewis, Chris Eubank and now joe are all world class, but not in the yanks eyes.
Bull****, you don't know what you are talking about, this kind of posting is embarrasing to other brits, unless it's a joke i've took wrong.
I see, the new Joe C band wagon - 'he has nothing to prove'. Yes he does. I'll give hime his earlier fights with Mitchell et al plus Kessler, Hopkins and Lacy. A few defenses against fresh up and comings and i'll be satisfied to call him 'an all time great' and attach meaning to that clean record.
Joe Calzaghe has beaten one prime fighter in 46 fights, and that is Mikkel Kessler..So I guess in some peoples eyes he has nothing left to prove......but at 175 he's yet to beat a prime fighter. The only one out there really is Chad Dawson. So I guess if beating one prime fighter as well as a number of past its, than I would say you have low expectations
I quoted your post about a possible Kessler/Dawson fight, so I'm assuming we're talking Kessler at 175?
Nothing bizaare about a mandatory asking for his fight, and respectfully at that! Too many people have been brainwashed by these ideas - a. There are no challenges left - Of course there are and Dawsons just one! and b. 'insert boxer' doesn't bring enough money to the table - The promoters must be laughing as they wipe their butts with $100 bills! note - I'm British and a big fan
