The list is purely a "popularity" contest and not a true top sports performer contest. It is voted for by no bodies who have access to the bbc voting system.

Hamilton is a high profile loser and does not deserve anyones vote.
    Calaghe should win this.

I was referring to how every time Khan and Hamilton are on our screens they are hyped up to the moon from those presenting on ITV

Lewis Hamilton is at the end of the day a loser and the British public seems to love a good loser.

So of course Joe Calzaghe a born winner won't take the award.

    ****ing farce.

The fact that Kessler made it a close fight shouyldn't be to Calzaghe's credit.

I don't think people know the true magnitude of what Calzaghe and Haye have achieved - both historically and today.

If Hatton beats Floyd, I just sure as hell hope people recognise what he has done.

People like Joe, Ricky and David are setting the standard for British boxers and athletes as a whole. British boxing is beginning to thrive but it means nothing if fighters are achieving spectacular feats and no one will recognise them.

Joe Calzaghe is the best super middleweight in the history of boxing and his achievements speak for itself. I'm not sure if any other sports personality can match this achievement.

If Ricky beats Floyd he'll deserve it much more than Calzaghe. Urango, Castillo & Mayweather >> Manfredo & Kessler

I thought he had strayed from his usual boxing related avatars until I saw Jane Couch sat on Greengrass's knee.
