Boxing will never die because of us hardcore fans but it's already dead to the casual fan. I had a friend tell me just the other day that he stopped watching boxing after Tyson's fall. UFC is definitely more popular to the general public.

    BS.

They never said it was because they retired. They said its because of the politics. And they are right.
    Just BS.

Its a bit **** no question. I was really pissed when i first read it ( and I like Hatton ) but then you think a bit. For example what I was saying elsewhere about Khan. A guy takes a world titile belt but then has his trainer talking about not being ready for some of the guys in the division, So hand the ****ing belt bakc then , you're not a champion !

Khan isnt alone in this kind of behaviour obviusly but he is Rickys natural succesor ( in
that he will bring crossover fans ) but how many will become boxing fans wih confusion like that reigning ?

So yeah **** you for saying that Ricky ( but he kinda has some sense to what he is saying ) boxing is far from dead but it needs some treatment !

The only thing dead as far as boxing goes are there careers. Calzaghe thinks its dead because his pay per view couldnt sell in the United States. Hatton thinks its dead because his career is basically over. The most ironic thing about it is that these are two British fighters who have said it. Calzaghe was a good fighter but he still didnt face a good level of competition in his prime and Hatton was ok he just drew crowds. Boxing is not dead at all its still alive and well. The only thing keeping MMA alive is promotion the promoters and limited television networks promote the hell out of it boxing doesnt get that type of promotion but it still does very well especially considering people arent paying for monthly pay per views and getting 5 min. matches constantly
