I'm so bored of hearing constant **** about both fighters. according to some, they havent achieved anything and have just ran there whole careers. its bull****. I'm not proclaiming there top ten ATG at all, they are both world class fighters though, its that simple. The amount of **** Calzaghe had before the Lacy fight, that suddenly shut up, then Kessler, he was defo going to be beaten, out classed the man, Hopkins was definitely going to derail him however, and yes it was close but joe won end of. Is there fans of Joe and Ricky out there?? Why do you like them as fighters??

I'm a fan of both ..I can enjoy both of them ..I became a Calzaghe fan after the Mitchell fight ..He's one of the smartest boxers in the ring ..What he lacks in power he makes up for it with offense and ring savey !

For Hatton at 140 he's a machine I like the way he goes all out ..Its not my most favorite style of fighting but I respect him in and out the ring ..A streight up class act !

No, Hatton is simply too boring for me.

Even if he had the best resume in the world he'd still be boring with his hit and hold style and lack of a straight punch. Just not my preference.

I like Joe because he is an ATG. Very skilled, great conditioning, great mental strength.

I do not like Hatton. Overrated. Average skills. Lack of discipline in between fights. Good. Not great.

i like joe cos he's adaptable, he can fight going backwards and he can fight going backwards, he can lead, he can counter - he finds a way to win, and he's not shy of having a good tear up with anybody.

i like hatton cos of his personality and the fact he also loves a tear up. win lose or draw with hatton and he is honest about what happenned, he doesn't need anyone patting him on the back telling him how good he is, he doesn't need to trash talk and knock other boxers achievements, he shows some respect for opponents, and can actually laugh at himself . . . unlike 95% of boxers today.

Why lump these two together? Calzaghe is lightyears beyond Hatton in both skill and accomplishment. Ridiculous to even associate them.

calzaghe -upside-fast hands, ring smart with the ability to adjust during a fight, which most fighters lack.-down side -does look like slaps with lack of power, tends to showboat a bit and dont look good doing it,maybe his down fall one day.

hatton -upside-one of the best boxers in the world to work the body, excellant at 140.-down side-cant go up weight, eyes cut easy and may cost him fights.

Im a fan of Joe's more than Ricky's,he should have never ventured out of 140 the 7 pds really hurts him...As for Joe i think he's a great fighter he has speed, skill, stamina, tenacity, chin, and dedication.I for one can see when someone has the special quality about them,RJJ had it in the 90's up to 03',and i can see the special qualities Joe has.As much as i am a fan of RJJ im more a fan of Joe's because hes not afraid to put it all out there if need be where RJJ was always reluctant to.I expect Joe to win there fight on the 8th,RJJ is not the same guy 10 years ago i dont know if i could make such a bold prediction but this isnt 10 years ago its today.

why is it ridiculous, i wasnt associating them fight wise really, was associating them as fighters that get overwhelming amounts of **** off fans that dont follow them undeservingly imo.

Most of the people who don't give Joe or Ricky enough credit are Americans and i believe this is because a lot (not all but a large proportion) have not seen the best of these two fighters.

For me Joe's hand problems have really hampered him and now instead of sitting down on his punches and actually hurting people he instead relies to much on pitty-patter punches to rake up the points to protect his britttle hands.

As for Ricky he changed his style in the Tszyu fight. He neglected his jab and good foot work and instead relied more on leaning on and wrestling with Kostya. This was perfect for this fight as Kostya was getting on and had barley fought in the previous few years so the wrestling wore him out. Also by staying close to Kostya it negated his awesome power. However, instead of reverting back to his old style for his next fights (which although could never be mistaken for a Floyd Mayweather Jr style of fighting, was still more inteligent, skillful and exciting than his wrestling style) he stuck with this wrestling style.

Joe and Ricky pre-Lacy and Tzsyu, for me, are much better fighters than Joe and Ricky post-Lacy and Tszyu. Unfortunately some people havn't seen these two fighters fight much (or at all) before their respective break out fights.

There are dozens of other fighters that fit that description. Why these two? The only connection I can see is they were stablemates. That's it. Literally nothing else in common.
