Hopkins has a lot to lose. He is thinking about his place in history. He wants to be mentioned with the likes of Hagler and Monzon. And he needs to beat Calzaghe to further his legacy.

I don't give a damn what he does just as long as he wins.

Beating the first to defeat Calzaghe would definately further his ATG status, but Hopkins is already considered one of the very best middelweights, he will be considered and ATG even if Calzaghe knocks him the **** out.

His fights at 175 won't affect his standing among other great MW's.

Yeah, but his overall legacy will be enhanced.

The only thing Hopkins has to lose is the respect of fans, like myself, who always liked him but think this is a ship that sailed 6 years ago.

Look at the guys he has beaten in those six years. He maybe past his very peak but he has gone onto win the world title at light heavyweight, that is no reaosn to lose respect of a boxer.

  8. Hopkins is a HOF no matter what, WIN-LOSE OR DRAW, at 43 and slowing down how many people realistically expect him to win??:huhand this fight at 175 will not have a bearing what so ever on what he accomplished at middleweight..

I can see it already IF calzaghe loses, people will say that he wasnt at 168 is why he lost etc. Well glad the fight is finally getting made
