Hopkins has plenty of tricks in his bag for a fighter like Calzaghe. I;m inclined to think that Calzaghe's workrate will be too much for Hopkins at this stage of his career, but Hopkins will zero that right hand into Calzaghe's face all night long - and when they get close, he will mug him on the inside to keep Joe from unloading his combinations. I will avoid betting on this fight - as I just want to enjoy watching it.

Not a chance he'll be KO'd in five. What indications do people have to suggest such an easy victory for Joe? If Joe wins this it will be a close UD but I'm going for a Hopkins UD. I've already said how I see this one going in the prediction thread so I won't repeat myself but actually think Hopkins is the puncher in this fight.

well they both have 44 wins and 32 ko's

Obviously though bhop has lost 4 and 1 draw to joe cals 0 so technicaly joe has the higher ko %

But both have great chins so its going to the cards and i cant see bhop keeping up joe's pace.

    :good

I think Calzaghe will fight a smart fight and not get involved with the spoiling tactics that Hopkins will try.

Calzaghe by UD in a very boring fight I think.

Hopkins has proven me wrong against Winky. I really thought he would have no answer against Winky's aggression, defense and jabs. He has a way of neutralizing styles (e.g. Tito, Taylor and even in his losses to Jones and Taylor).

I am not writing off Hopkins against Calzaghe, he would be very competitive to say the least.

the fight is not sealed yet.

winky wright still has his court case v hopkins going on where winky is suing hopkins for sexual harrasment during there fight.

Hopkins is a slow starter he couldnt keep up with Jermain Taylor for 8 rounds before Taylor got tired. Too bad for him that Calzaghe is not going to tire for 12 rounds.

Calzaghe is going to press the fight and fight his own pace. This won't be dull, I promise you. Hopkins will have to summon all his mental strength to stay in the fight.

Calzaghe won't fight a cautious fight -- he gave Kessler no respect until the uppercat and bludgening right hand counter over the top. Hopkins will have to hurt him a wee bit or he'll get cheeky.

not a fight i wanted to see.

hopkins will spoil and shut down calzaghe and make it close .

hopkins initated 130 plus clinches alone in 12 rounds v wright , meaning calzaghe will have to keep it long and use his legs, if calzaghe tries to fight inside , hopkins will just spoil and maul and stop the action.

hopkins will try to backpeddle, set a trap, throw a right hand and hit or miss with it he will lead with a shoulder charge or headbutt and wrap his arms around calzaghe.

hopkins will try and keep the pace sedate.

for the fight to be a spectacle calzaghe must box from the outside/jab/straight left, step off the hopkins counter single right and charge and then jabjab/jab straight left.

fight is going 12 rounds IMO , calzaghe will not attempt to put to much power in his shots , if team calzaghe work out a correct gameplan , just pile up the points.

if calzaghe gets to close hopkins will lead with the head and shoulder and it will then depend on what ref calzaghe gets.

if you get an american ref and possibly american judges it will be hard for calzaghe not being the house fighter.

winky wright outlanded hopkins both on punches thrown and punches landed but not being the house fighter lost by a landslide.

    What all 12 of them?:p

Hopkins will find out why Joe is undefeated when he wakes up end of round 7 or 8.
    then it`ll be all huggs n kisses>:0

Regardless of the result Hopkins had 2 very close fights with Taylor...Calzaghe is on another level compared to Taylor. At this stage in their respective careers Calzaghe has too much for Hopkins to deal with
