Yeah, and it's also easy to sit at home and say someone over reacted to a punch to the groin when we aren't the ones getting hit. Gatekeeper, it sounds like your Mom and my Mom went to the same slapping school. :yep
Calzaghe would have been disqualified if he'd pulled the same stunts that BHop got away with. And guys like you would be calling him every name under the sun. But BHop was ''within his rights''. Double standards.
Joe won the fight going away. He was landing shots that were apparently hard enough to keep Bernard backing up and circling on the ropes the whole when he wasn't holding or taking feigning injury and Bhop nuthuggers seem to underestimate what fatigue will do to a man (see Cotto). Wearing your opponent out can be more effective than landing clean shots and once he's tired, those shots you were missing early all the sudden start landing and having quite the impact. Ali had the rope-a-dope. Margarito has "the punch me in the face til you're worn out and completely discouraged by my relentless pressure and unwillingness to flinch." Joe Calzaghe makes you sprint for the entire fight. Joe Calzaghe seems to be the most effective with this style mostly because he employs it while taking minimum punishment in return. I don't think there is a fighter from 175 down that can deal with it. I think the fight that should be happening right now is RJJ vs Dawson, with the winner to fight Calzaghe. If they did it that way it would've settled all arguments, or at least calmed the speculation down some. Dawson is promising but was unimpressive against Johnson (I thought he lost). Since a fight with Calzaghe looks unlikely (at least until Dawson becomes a bigger draw) then perhaps Dawson will finally fight Diaconu.
Roach also stated that Bernard was recovering from a medical condition, which could well be the cause of the disorientation - and that there was absolutely no way Joe's punches hurt him. Hopkins just today in interview today stated that Pavlik has a real thumping "Foreman like" punch, and he later referred to Joe's punches as slaps. Perhaps he was just disorientated constantly spinning round avoiding the high volume. I don't recall seeing Joe constantly catch Hopkins with much let alone power shots. Perhaps it's just because he is old.
The only idiotic part was saying that Hopkins is no HOFer - he is. But I agree with the rest of the comments. BHop taking 3 - 4 minutes rest in the 10th round was the smart guys equivalent of the Mike Tyson ear biting incident.
Go **** yourself Scar you half literate piece of stink ****. Who gives you the clit to call out an observation as the most idiotic without even addressing anything I actually said? Everything I said in that post is completely valid and you probably know it. And if you don't then you're the drooling half wit anal crammer.
