Calzaghe - Hopkins seem unlikely to happen when you consider Jones - Trinidad...

Hopkins isn't a fool. He is a shrewd man, a solid businessman and he knows boxing.

Hopkins not being delusion knows he cannot beat Joe Calzaghe. He is aware he has no chance in hell, he has seen the quality Calzaghe has.

Hopkins knows he will be paid nearly as well facing the winner of the Jones - Trinidad fight. He knows this because he is aware that American boxing fans are really ****ing amazingly stupid and will buy into anything.

Hopkins also knows he does have as chance in hell against either of those two fighters.

Hopkins only has to stall until mid January when the Jones fight takes place.

Mark my word there is no way Hopkins will want to face Calzaghe in a fight he simply cannot win with the Jones fight coming up.

I predict Hopkins stalls, somehow claims Calzaghe is the one doing the ducking and signs to fight the winner of the Jones - Trinidad fight.

This could happen and I agree that Hopkins has zero chance against Calzaghe.

Someone posted an article which basically stated that this deal was all but done. It was just a matter of working out the details.

So sorry you are wrong in your assumption of Hopkins being a *****. Hopkins is going to have a plan. That's why he's calling Joe C out. Your first sentence in the post is correct. He knows boxing. And that's why he's fighting Joe C. My thinking is that he's going to continue to catch Joe C coming in with lead right hands down the pipe.

My guess is that American boxing fans are no more ignorant than European fans. Both are arguing the same point in reverse, with somewhat the same criteria, from opposite sides. You (and a few other less intelligent posters who are trying to copy you, without your flare) already know this in your heart, and it's why you push this button so much.

    It`s funny.
Joe`s giving it one more fight before he retires so we know his head is well screwed on. All of a sudden these American fighters are now coming out of the woodwork and saying," yeah i want to fight Calzaghe."
Taylor, Winky, Jones. Hopkins unfortunately is in it too deep and man he must be shittin it:p
All Joe has wanted to do is fight the best out there and what he got was," I aint fighting some uk guy and gettin my ass whopped so lets just price ourselves outta the fight and take another path."
Reading the forward in Calzaghe`s autobiography written by Sugar Ray Leonard will tell you all what he thinks of the current fighters today and where he stands Calzaghe-Above them all. And i believe Sugar Ray knows most about boxing than all y`all.

No, this is what you WANT to happen. That way you can continue to play Calzaghe as some ATG on par with other PROVEN ATG's and continue to make disparaging remarks regarding American fighters and posters.

Sugar Ray Leonard knows no more about picking great fighters than anyone else, though he certainly knows more about the actual in ring fighting. Boxers are often way off in their assessments. Look at how many picked Hatton to beat Mayweather.

If Joe cant get the fight signed soon, i dont think he shoul d wait around too long. He should be ringside for Pavlik/Taylor 2, or head straight for a 175 titleholder.

I think Hopkins would prefer to fight a shot RJJ, then Joe Calzaghe.

So it seems Leonard is basing his opinion of Calzaghe on the Manfredo fight :rofl :rofl :rofl

Makes sense I suppose, that's probably 1 of only 3 fights the Americans have ever seen Calzaghe involved in.

I despise the European fans, especially around the Hatton - Mayweather fight.

I disassociate myself from the waves of Calzaghe fans around right now, who only think, but do not understand why Calzaghe is the all time P4P number one.
