good performance, this was peak Calzaghe still dont know why anyone thinks he would have been a challenge for a prime Jones, he would have been game and taken a decent beating.

I dont think Calzaghe had a peak.. he performed at the same level right throughout his career. a very consitant fighter for the level of opposition he faced and when he faced them

A peak Calzaghe was when he had his KO power which he now does not have due to many hand injurys.
He still would of wooped a prime roy jones anyday.

Kabary Salem is a trainer at my gym. He said that Calzaghe was an ordinary fighter in every sense of the word, but his awkwardness was insurmountable in the ring. Salem tells me when he fought Calzaghe he felt like he was boxing a wet noodle.

    Who has Calzaghe KOD? clean????

    MARIO VIET twice???ROFL

hes never been a puncher, the Brewer fight also shows this. Hes a busy fighter who gives an honest account of himself, hes awkward because hes a busy southpaw. He had a great KO ratio early in his career 20/22 but he was fighting comedians then. ROFL

I don't disagree, it was just interesting to hear it from a guy who was in the ring with Joe C.

it just sounded a little like pavliks outburst at bhop

  14. Well - if we're listening to Salem, Eubank basically told anyone, and everyone who'd listen that they should stay the hell away from Calzaghe, including Jones.

to be honest Calzaghe wasnt on anyones radar until 2005 LACY, he wouldnt have been regarded as a credible opponent for a Jones.

he was only regarded an elite fighter for 3-4 years.

I wouldnt really take any of Eubanks comments seriously, Calzaghe had his hands full with a shot weight drained version. Eubank also was never an elite fighter...an Elite showman. Who was a top 5 supermidle at the time
