do i really need to ask? how do YOU think he'd do? p.s should i take this to classic? keywords:slapper/hopkins/prime for prime/sheep/jones/chickens/undefeated/retired/tom jones and the greatest SMW of all time.
Kessler would snap that brittle-boned ******* in a rematch. And in h2h terms, Roy Jones was far and away the best ever supermiddleweight.
As much as everyone hates Joe for staying in Wales too long you can't deny his talent and will to win. Similar to Mayweather the guy had skills but didn't test them enough. I don't see anyone in the current division giving him trouble though. Joe would kick Froch's ass, Calzaghe has a great chin (two knockdowns against Hopkins and Jones were just that - knockdowns, Calzaghe wasn't wobbly on his legs at all.) Froch doesn't have the skills to keep up with Calzaghe's speed and as for the stamina Calzaghe actually has better stamina and heart than Froch. So if you add to that the fact that Calzaghe has great, natural boxing talent and Froch is a stiff talentless robot and I just don't see how Froch can win. I think it's hilarious the way Froch carries himself like a prime Roy Jones Jr, hand down low, posing from side to side. Roy Jones Jr had the class and MOST IMPORTANTLY the speed and talent to pull that off. He didn't need a defense he was so quick. His speed was his defense. Froch on the other hand is like the terminator, he just keeps coming, he lets his opponent punch him in the face until they get tired and then KO's then. I suppose it's a gameplan that works but sooner or later he'll come across someone with talent AND POWER and get KTFO.
Calzaghe against Taylor. Taylor would give Calzaghe a great fight in the early rounds but Calzaghe would figure him out and make adjustments and dominate the later rounds. Taylor with his questionable stamina would be EXHAUSTED from the constant attack from Calzaghe. I think he'd be on tired legs very early.
as much as i agree with you on calzone,i must disagree on your summation and attitude towards froch, regardles of his style hes exciting to watch and puts on a fight, isnt that what the sports all about?robotic or not it works for him the results speak for themselves( two wars with the former undisputed middleweight king and the now light heavyweight champion)you cant argue with that! i believe froch is basically a pressure fighter with a very economical style the 2 previous fights he had were against opponents that turned his gameplan on its head, froch had to fight 2 guys who were prepared to play him at his own game something he wasnt used too (i for one was slightly taken a back at taylors game-ness early on in the fight) but again he dug deep/adjusted and allowed his pressure to prevail.. to say he cannot box is laughable the guy in sparring is an absolute spectacle to watch (and why is it everytime a guys shows a little cocky-ness or a two fingered salute to the orthodox hes suddenly compared to roy jones and immediately dismissed as arrogant etc,**** rjj, thats what froch is about, he is'nt imitating anyone though if indeed he does plagurise a few moves from anyone then its eubank not jones) to sum up:froch for me is an exciting fighter with a slightly unorthodox style,he has a chin and punch second to none, and the cajone's to back up his big mouth, yes hes no calzaghe but who is? i for one expect even bigger things from the nott's boy in upcoming fights,he cant box?we'l see about that. and no im not his mother.
