"Calzaghe is ducking Pavlik, he knows he'll lose!"

    Firstly, I like Pavlik, and i think the fight would be competitive. However, everyone who seems to be saying about how Calzaghe's ducking him can't have been paying much attention to recent JC timelines....

    Since Pavlik beat Taylor Calzaghe's been saying he'd like to fight pavlik, calzaghe has also (since a bit longer than this) been saying that he'd like to go up to LHW to fight hopkins, jones etc.

    Calzaghe fought kessler and hopkins with no response from pavliks team. They said they wanted to stay at MW for the immediate future.

    After Calzaghe's win against hopkins, he was asked who he'd like to fight next. He said RJJ. He also mentioned pavlik, but said that it would probably be his last fight and he'd like to face roy jones. AFTER THIS pavliks camp started making noise about pavlik & calzaghe. How has calzaghe gone back on it? He said he wanted to fight RJJ as his preferred choice. And it's his last fight, and RJJ is still a big name who'd look good on his resume in 20 years from now.

    Say he fights Pavlik and beats him, then Pavlik loses again to someone like Kessler...... everyone will just be saying pavlik was just another over-rated name!

    Besides, about two years ago from now I remember everyone talking about how Calzaghe was ducking Kessler, how he didn't want any of the Viking Warrior, how he knew he couldn't beat him.... look how that turned out!

    I like both them guys too, and feel they should fite each other, buh calzaghe keeps changing his mind. maybe he wants to be known as a legend killer by beat jones and earning a ton of money. but i'd rather see him face pavlik, that will be more entertaining no doubt.

    I'd like to see that fight too.

    I was just saying he hasn't actually been going back on calling pavlik out, he said he wanted pavlik and had no response....until before his rumoured last fight, and after he'd already said his preferred option for it would be RJJ.

    Pavlik vs Calzaghe would be a great fight so it's a shame.

    boxing isn't a timeline, it's a business.

    you don't get big fights by calling people out - you get them by taking yourself seriously enough to make your mark internationally so that the EGO of guys likes hopkins and jones - which they both have in abundance - can't ignore you.

    do you know how many fighters can claim a 'title' and fight out of their homeland and make a comfortable living from it?

    good. then you also know that, legitimate or not, that 'title' and padded record can be a stepping stone to taking on the big boys...

    let me say it again.

    the big boys earned their stripes on the biggest stage of all. if someone wants a piece of that then they have to be prepared to go after it.

    if they don't....they won't get their big fights.

    That was in January. He said Roy Jones AFTER the Hopkins fight, and BEFORE Pavliks camp answered anything.

    slappy would beat pavlik by pulling that **** he did on hopkins, give pavlik a liitle time though

    I think after the RJJ fight, Cal should give the fans what they want to see! then retire. If he gets beat By RJJ, I think he wouldnt fight pavlik
