I will not attempt to decipher that incomprehensible nonsense. Please do quote the part where I called Calzaghe a puncher though.

I really do like to get into the psyche of people like you. Why is everything a battle with the likes of yourself? Is it too hard to just calmly discuss things in an adult environment?

Do you swear & argue like that in your everyday life & with your work colleagues?

Random Post #1 - Calzaghe is far better than anyone Hopkins has ever fought!!!

Random Post #2 - Hell yeah!!!

Sues posts - "But what about Roy (and arguably a few others)? And the fact that Hopkins is FAAAAAAAAAAAAR better than anyone Calzaghe has ever fought. In so many different ways? Why is noone taking this into account???"

Random Post #3 - Calzaghe will own Old Popkins!!!

Sues gives up...no use speaking to those without ears...

(just a rundown of how these posts usually turn out)

Totally agree. You are an example of an American poster who puts thought & rationale into his posts as opposed to shameless back slapping & childish insults. Keep it up.:good

    :thumbsup

    Thanks bro.

Its tough for me in this one. Calzaghe has been one of my fav fighters since the Eubank fight. He is a marvel. But I stand on the side of thinking that Hopkins is just a terrible, terrible matchup for him.

Stylistically, the only advantages he holds over Bernard are speed and workrate. But timing (which Bernard arguably has the best timing in boxing) is MUCH more important than speed, and usually negates it...and Hopkins has distinct advantage in this area. And before the Wright fight, many people on this site said that because Winky regularly throws 1000+ a fight, that he would simply outwork Bernard as well....but because of the way Hopkins fights, Winky ended up being outworked and outlanded.

The rest of the matchups in this fight all fall into Hopkins favor.

I think this will be his most brilliant performance, followed by ALL of the people picking Joe to "assisinate" him will be on here saying how dirty a fighter he is and blaming everything under the sun as to why he lost.

BUT, I think Joe will show more in defeat than he has in most of his victories. It will be close, but a clear victory for Hopkins.

(I might even resurect my post on why he will win just around fight time....:D )

Me & you think along the same lines. I made a similair prediction a while back, I'll dig it up as well.;)

The main problem with this site is that there are too many fanatics & not enough fans. Because we are both predicting a Hopkins win that instantly makes a Calzaghe hater in their eyes, which is not the case.

Anyway, I said I would stay off this particular topic because I was tired of repeating myself but it's nice chatting to a reasonable poster for a change.:good

But you aren't seeing that while Hopkins poses stylistic difficulties for Calzaghe, that Calzaghe poses just as much, if not more for Hopkins and I'm talking prime to prime.

Now, it's just a mismatch, he won't be able to handle the pace, movement and workrate/awkwardness because his timing has diminished and he has nothing to stop the assault.

Hopkins is multi-dimensional, but not so much these days and Calzaghe is very much a multi-dimensional fighter.

I take Calzaghe clear prime to prime, now, it's a bad mismatch and it's going to become apparant very early in the fight.

Timing? Hopkins hit Winky cleaner than ANYONE has since Vazquez (and that was like a decade ago). His timing is still amazing....still among the best in the sport. On top of that, Winky's entire style is made to make people look bad....imagine how clean he will be able to time Calzaghe, who has decent defense at best (especially when compared to a Winky Wright)?

The only areas I can give Calzaghe an advantage in is speed and workrate, but with Bernard's timing and the way he fights will easily negate these....I mean, do you REALLY believe Joe is going to be able to throw 1000+ like he did vs Kessler without being countered badly and with Bernard in his chest all night?

Its not going to matter...the way Hopkins fights makes those advantages DISADVANTAGES!

Take into account that Hopkins has the best timing, defense, accuracy, lead right, counter punching, chin, inside fighting, etc. that Joe has ever faced. On top of the fact that he is the smartest and dirtiest fighter Joe has fought as well....all that points to this being a HELL of alot harder a night than any of the Calzaghe fanatics (not fans...there is a difference....Im a big fan, but not a fanatic) want to let on.

Mark my words, Hopkins in his current state is a HORRIBLE stylistic matchup for Calzaghe. A close but CLEAR UD is on its way for Bernard.
