Is it mere coincidence that Jones never fought the best puncher in any division he ever fought in?

He was a ****ing shithead who excelled by choosing the path of least resistance.

    FACT!

You dont become champion at 160, 168, 178 and HW (ok maybe HW) by taking the path of least resistance. Now stop talking out of your ass Rummy.

I'm speaking the truth, which oftentimes hurts.

The only division Jones unified was 175, where he never even beat the top dog in the division.

That speaks volumes about Jones's lack of desire. Say what you will, fanboys, he NEVER dared to be great, and any fool who claims otherwise is either deluded or dishonest.

I guess beating a prime Hopkins and Toney is not daring to be great. :-(

They are good accomplishments (even if Hopkins had not reaches his prime yet).

    But that isn't my point.

Come on! Do you honestly believe Jones was on a quest for greatness, or do you believe that, instead, he was trying to maximize his reward with minimum risk?

    Please answer honestly.

    aye it's a good post.
in the same way jones was a very, very special fighter - a great fighter - he never truly sought to make himself great.
