Calzaghe is going to get knocked out ... if he's getting knocked down by Hopkins ... he's going to get knocked out by Roy Jones ... Roy is still the more skilled of the two and just as fast if not faster than Calzaghe. Those windmill ***** flurries aren't going to work against Jones ...
Prime JC was never around the LACY FIGHT HE JUST LOOKED GOOD IN THIS FIGHT BECAUSE HE WAS ALLOT BETTER THAN LACY. Prime JC was when he fought Reid, Brewer and Mitchell those years.
Whats up with all the hype around Calzaghe right now? ... he has like 5 current/former champions on his resume ... that doesn't compare to Jones' 15 ... over 26 title fights ... I'm sure that Jones will be the best that Calzaghe has ever faced ... Calzaghe isn't all that ... he will get his first loss from Jones ... Jones isn't going to take this fight if it wasn't going to benefit him. He knows that this is going to be an easy fight for him now that Joe has got so much fan fair all of a sudden. Jones TKO mid rounds ... i'm sure if there's any sign that Joe's hurt that Roy isn't going to let up on him.
different era though. boxing is shameless now and they have bloodsucking leeches (ala don king) who are equally afraid of losing their prime income. so you can't really compare. it might look noble to see guys from the past fighting all comers, but they would be doing the same merry-go-round today if they fought now and you better believe that.
Care to respond Rummy? Who did Roy avoid? And dont just throw out names of fighters you thought Roy should of traveled around the world to fight either.
not a realistic post. you're talking prime jones not the jones calzaghe is fighting now. which is why he's fighting him...
Yeah who you know that got KO'd in a title fight then less than a year later (w/o a layoff) comes back and fights another championship fight ... I'm sure that would happen to any fighter ... and just because he lost to Johnson means nothing - Johnson is rugged. Joe pulled out of a fight w/ Glenn Johnson knowing that it wasn't a safe fight for him.
No i'm talking about the 39 yr old Roy Jones ... who just completed 36 good rounds of work and is back to his light heavyweight form ...
