If your really that stupid? Just get off of ESB! Just tell me who's your favorite boxer because you seem like the only HATER!
Clearly, Michalczewski. And what makes all this even sadder and MORE pathetic is the fact that Jones most likely would have beaten Michalczewski. BUT, we will never know for sure, because Jones never dared to be great. He never wanted the fight.
True enough, but my point is, Jones never made these fights happen. Take a guy like Hagler who was determined to fight everyone and anyone who was perceived as a challenge.
you cant be serious? after all the talk about what fighters have to do to be taken serious and crack the US market do you really think DM was avoided? i agree jones needed more big fights - but it's up to the talented fighters like DM and calzaghe to make their mark in the US so that they are viable financially and to the networks. boxing is a business too, unfortunately.
granted. but if hagler as born in this era he would still be respected as a hard fighter - but the 'everyone and anyone' tag would likely get watered down by the people who have vested interests in him.
Is that the best you could come up with? **** i knew you had nothing but this is rediculas. Now why the **** would the P4P king want to go this guys country to fight him? Did Michalczewski EVER challenge Jones to a fight here in the states? NO! :deal
They fill bigger stadiums in the UK and Germany and still make allot of money. They dont need to fight in the US for dough they can still provide the same covergae for the Americans if a fight is held eslwhere.
YES! Your argument is basically nothing more than a rationalization for Jones never making the fight happen. Two undefeated (notwithstanding the Griffin DQ) champions who never fought?!?!?! Are you ****ING KIDDING ME?!?!?! That is inexcusable! And the reason Jones DESERVES more of the blame is because morons have the audacity to place him amongst the top P4P fighters of all-time. Say what you will, Jones never dared to be great! And the saddest part is, he probably could have accomplished a hell of a lot had he done so. In the end, everyone got screwed! Jones, boxing, and the fans. It's a ****ing disgrace, and listening to Jones' fanboys justify his 'path of least resistance' philosophy is disgusting. I'm sorry, but that's how it is. He was a tremendous talent, who wasted what COULD HAVE BEEN one of the best careers ever!
But Michalczewski was never held in the same regard as Jones, making it even more of a mark on Jones' legacy. Seriously, you Jones apologists seem unwilling to concede any points. Continue being deluded.
BTW, this was part of my point earlier. He maximized profit for minimal risk, and hurt his own legacy in the process. That's a fact.
Agreed. Going to Germany a place which he could get robbed on points and KO ing DM would have been amazing for RJJ. All that was needed was courage. Nigel Benn went to Italy and won the WBC title and stoped the guy knowing that if it went to points he could have lost. Even Cunningham is brave enough to go to Germany and dominated Huck which won him allot of respect from me.
