how anyone can bring up the jones jr win in defence of calzaghe is just shocking.

it not only adds nothing to jc's legacy, it actually detracts from it. calzaghe couldn't stop a one eyed, 39 year old, 5 years removed from prime, inactive, gunshy, chinless, barely punching, there for the paycheque Jones.

added to this indignity is the fact he got droppped on his arse and couldn't even do the same to Roy

joe carried jones because he felt sorry for the joke! joe doesnt even concider the rj or hopkins fight as anything special, he sed himself if i have to fight to old americans to get my pay day i will, guess what he did, concidering hes about 4 years past his best , out of his weight class then fair play to him, lets not forget rj and b hop called him out, so he jumped up a weight went to there back yard and embarrassed them, concidering joe lant more punches on hopkins than any one ever has i think its great for the brits. what did hopkins do after that , he made a joke out of american hero pavlik, makes joes victory so much sweater concidering b hop was blowing out of his ass by the 9th and had to fake a low blow to catch his breath, what a legend , joe won all 4 major titles at super middle and the ring belt hes the only fighter in the last 50 years to hold the ring belt at 2 different weights, hes beat a list of world champs and americans thats longer than my arm. im just happy that i got to see the best british fighter full stop and one of the greatesr off all time. as much as people want to slag him off, facts dong lie.

dude, i love Calzaghe aswell, but stop people should stop starting pointless threads like this one. It ends up making certain people hate Calzaghe because of the amount of hype of over excited people. Stop turning the rest of the boxing fans against him. I agree theres far to many Calzaghe threads on here, the issues are so boring now

Calzaghe is in his own catagory. He´s extremely unorthodox, fires an enormous amount of slaps/call it punches!
Based on his performance against Lacy I´ll say he´s great. I think he had his finest hour against the (overrated ?) american.
Against Kessler he showed ability to change tactic during a fight - turning a losing finght in to a winning situation by outsmarting a dangerous foe.
Against Hopkins (a bad fight ) he showed his spirit, his ability to focus on the fight - not letting Hopkins badmanners, gangstahabits affect him.
He´s an alltime great, the best ever to come out of GB.

 

Well as much as talented JC is.... I don't like seeing a slapping contest unless if im depress and want to laugh at something.
