Undisputed MW champion. 20 title defenses. Depending on how you view the Taylor fights (which most people feel he won them), he arguably hasnt lost a fight in 14 years. Among the best ever in the in terms of defense, counter punching, footwork, timing, accuracy...and in mosts opinion the smartest fighter ever to get in a ring. Wins over Johnson, Jackson, Holmes, Echols x2, Vanderpool, Trinidad, Oscar, Eastman, Taylor x2 (arguably), Joppy, Tarver, Wright, etc. Still at the top of the game at 43 years old....also winning won a title in his second weight division at this advanced age over the #1 recognized LHW in the world.

HOW IN THE HELL IS HE NOT A LEGEND???? I am just shocked by some of the things I read on this site sometimes.

Hagler's best two wins (Hearns and Duran) were both smaller men (WW and LW...) who never accomplished ANYTHING at MW. They were shells of themselves above their natural size (Only Hearns winning a title above MW....and you wont find ANYONE who thinks he was great at or above MW).

Again, where do you have Hopkins all time at MW and who do you have above him???

yeah yeah, 20 defences but how many of them were against Robert Allen? No need to argue about why he kept fighting him, bottom line it he did. Allen ain't nobody. The rest of the defences are hardly a whos who of top fighters.

 

The stupid thing is, these same fanboys will want Calzaghe to get huge credit for this fight even though they, Joe & his Dad seem to think it will be so easy. Joe & Enzo give Hopkins no credit at all so I really don't understand why they are taking the fight if they think Bernard is so ****.

 

The reason that most are looking forward to this fight is that we are going to see two great fighters getting it on. The cocks who are saying that Hopkins is shite are as deluded as those who claim Calzaghe is nothing.
