yeah ward has now surpassed Joes supermiddle record, although it was a **** record to begin with Ward gonna go a lot further than that son
You cant be talking about the WBO years fighting cans surly ? Joe won the ring title at suppermiddle and made 3 defenses atsch Ward is where Joe was at and about a decade younger and only getting better. Still the 2nd best all time is not so bad .
I always considered Roy the "best" SMW of all time.. But didn't have enough fights to be the greatest. If that makes any sense. Calzaghe I always thought was the greatest.. Ward is certainly shortening that gap though and very fast.
2007 Kessler > 2009 Kessler Lacy > Green 2007 Bika > 2010 Bika Reid > Abraham Eubank tie Froch 175 Hopkins - 168 Dawson Add in Calzaghes other wins Roy Jones Jr - Past prime Byron Mitchell - WBA Champion Charles Brewer - IBF Champion Richie Woodhall - Former WBC champion David Starrie - Should have been WBA/IBF Champion Omar Sheika - Win over Glen Johnson (dropped Johnson) Mario Veit 2x - Wins over Charles Brewer and Juergen Braehmer Kabary Salem - Only lost to top supermiddleweights Mger Mkrtchyan - European champion Will McIntyre - only stopped by calzaghe in his career
Not after beating a drained Chad Dawson... Ward is not the best SMW, Joe is above Ward as Joe beat Hopkins and Hopkins moved on since to dominate the lt heavy weight division sorry but I disagree here strongly. If Manny Pacquiao doesnt get credit for bringing Delahoya down 7 pounds to fight him, Ward shouldnt get any credit either
When judging the Greatest SMW, they have to be only fights at the weight... Hopkins and Jones don't count for Calzaghe.. The Jones fight doesn't mean anything, but the Hopkins fight does.. it is pretty close, I still have Calzaghe ahead though.
Ward is good but has had 3 years at the top , try doing that for 6 or 7 years and fighting outside of his own postcode.
How the **** dont Hopkins count look at his record after Joe, look who he fought and beat before Joe get a ****ing clue
