they both made their names of beating guys past their best, Walcott, Hopkins.

They both fought in divisions that were going through transission stages.

Nunn Toney Jones Mucullam had all left the division by this stage.

    Both have very deceptive records.

I am not discrediting Rocky, as he had no choice but to fight the opponents he fought.

Calzaghe could have fought better challenges but he decided to be a HOME BOY till he fought a 43 year old guy.

It's not Calzaghe's fault these matches weren't made. Beating Johnson would have proved nothing

The difference is that the Rock fought everyone they put in front of him and ducked no one.

The Hopkins fight was made, before Hopkins decided he wasn't interested and would rather wait for De La Hoya. This is well documented.

Jones just said the other day that he had not been interested in fighting Calzaghe.

    Who cares about Tarver?

Johnson is the only one that should have taken place, but didn't. But Calzaghe's always had dodgy hands and for a year or two around that time was in a less than optimum place psychologically due to his divorce and everything taking place. It's hardly a massive stain on his career, Johnson's lost to a lot of people, including two that Calzaghe beat.
