Not been on here too much of late with the nice weather but odd that Zod has made this thread when he said just recently

Saying that Hopkins didnt duck Calzaghe. But now Hopkins fighting 2 divisions below was ducking Jones with Calzaghe :patsch
Calzaghe was a weight below

See post #85 from General Zod for yourself

Whilst Zod is just showing quotes. I am showing video evidence that counters everything
    You Tube
6:45 in. "For 2 years Calzaghe has chased pound for pound number one Roy Jones, but to no avail".

    even earlier

    BBC, 21st November 2001.
"It's all very well being the best in the world, but you need big names for big fights," he reflects.

A fight with the Eric Lucas, the WBC champion, is a possibility, but unification fights are notoriously hard and expensive to arrange.

As is a bout with Roy Jones.

"To be honest I'm getting quite fed up with it," Calzaghe said.

A bout against the undisputed light heavyweight champion has been the subject of ongoing speculation.

"It's difficult because of the different networks involved. He's with HBO and I'm with Showtime - that's a massive obstacle in itself.

"Secondly, you've got to ask yourself whether Roy Jones would want to fight me.
"At the moment he picks his own opponents, fights the easiest guys he can and gets a lot of money for beating them.

"I'm dangerous and I can take the mega money out of his pocket. Why would he want to fight me?

Jones himself made the statement that he did not go fight him because it was too risky be it in the UK or states...he stated that on National TV while commentating on Calzaghe/Hopkins those words exactly get a copy of the fight and find out yourself....If Jones said it himself then any argument you have is out the window because Jones stated nothing about why should I have...I was ranked #1 he was ranked # whatever he said...IT WAS TOO RISKY FOR ME AT THAT TIME ESPECIALLY IF I HAD TO GO TO THE UK... he added nothing in on it....

roy jones the man who fought Richard Frazier the part time cop and then bragged about his greatness afterward....

2001 also. Calzaghe calls out Jones on a Tyson undercard, the then most popular fighter to fight on an undercard of.
Echoles pulled out and Calzaghe had to make do with a lesser opponent and calls out Jones and Hopkins

Back in 2000, Jones said he was returning to SMW to fight Calzaghe, which Calzaghe wanted. Jones changed his mind

Maybe someone can show me video evidence to the contrary like I can

Havent seen the the no average joe documentry in a while but im pretty sure he had to be talkeed into fighting Jeff Lacy by fwank and his dad. He is arrogant, but he always had his glass hands in the back of his mind.

Plus in 1999 RRJ was at LHW

Actions speak louder than words and video ! Your boy chased Roy for what 6 yrs but never bothered to move up in weight or even come to the man's back yard ..Like I said his chasing must have involved some sailing around the world for almost a decade ! The man just used Jones' name as levergae nothing more .Why else would he wait for ROY to get KO ed 3 times to finally grow a set to face him ..Your boy wanted nothing I mean nothing to do with Roy ! The fact that he was afraid of flying as an excuse was proof enogh !

It's pronounced Failey. He is looked at as the biggest joke on here. He is known as the boxrec warrior cause he has openly admitted to never watching fights and just looking up the results on boxrec. Lol don't take im seriously he is not very intelligent. Hence why he is Failey.

Now now, you shouldnt make up lies, just because Ive beaten you down on here so many times.
Its also the act of a ***** to call someone out and then hide, which is what you have been doing since I pwned you off a few threads some time back.
No doubt Auracle will read this post then claim he has me on ignore
Why would he move up in weight? He was carving a legacy in his own division and if you read the link, Jones said he was dropping down to SMW because he said SMW was more natural to him, just like Dawson is moving down for Ward.
Calzaghe did go to Roys back yard and beat him and Hopkins when they would finally fight him.
Where did Calzaghe use Jones name for leverage? Think that was the other way around when Calzaghe gave Jones a chance.
Calzaghe didnt wait for Jones to lose, Jones lost to others because he wouldnt fight Calzaghe sooner, same as Hopkins.

Anyone got any video evidence to say otherwise like I have?

Why would he move up in weight :

Well from what I understand he was calling out Roy Jones who was a light heavy weight and he was also killinng himself to make 168 if im not mistaken ..I mean why did he opt to move up after Jones was on the decline ?If he really wanted to fight Jones he would have done everything possible to get that fight ..Hatton went to welter to chase Floyd why couldn't Joe have done the same ?

Joe had no leverage at the time he was a virtual unknown here in the states ..Why the hell would Jones have come down to super middle when he was the draw and the man to beat ..The Dawson Ward situation is diffrent because Ward is the man ..Joe was not ! And Joe only came to Jones back yard when he was shot to **** ! Where was he when Jones was in his prime ? Oh I know lost in the Atlantic somewhere trying to find his way to the US ! Calzaghe gave Jones a chance who the hell was Joe to give anyone a chance ..You really are reaching here !

Hatton was the most popular fighter in Great Britian at the time ..He had a bigger following then Floyd and fought south of the division Floyd was at ..Yet he was not the man Floyd was ,he only fought at welter because that was the weight Mayweather was at ! Hatton knew in order to face the best you have to go to them not the other way around ..Tell me again why Joe couldn't do the same thing ?

Your funny Kelly and Fraizer were mando's you know guys that Joe loved to have feasted on his entire career !

Tell me then why didn't Joe fight on the Delahoya Trinidad undercard ?

Why did Joe move up to light heavy weight then after Jones was shot to bits ? Why did he chose to fight him when he had been KO ed several times and his reflexes were gone ?

What prevented Joe from coming to the US earlier ?Where there no planes at the time he was chasing Jones ?

Its Ok to do it in 2008 but not in 2000 when Jones was closer to his prime and was more dangerous ! Oh I know he was still dirty right ..Your excuses for your boy are far and wide !

Joe only chased names he never chased fighters thats why he used Jones name at every turn .He never had any intentions of fighting Jones when he was viable ..Had Jones retired after the Ruiz fight Joe would have never had his name of his fluffy padded record !

Anybody with a set of eyes can see that Joe Cal didn't belong in the same arena with a prime RJJ. Joe even said himself that he didn't want a piece of a prime RJJ.

Why are you giving Bailey the excuse he needs to perpetuate his delusions?
