Joe never agreed to the 20th Sep date. He's probably stood firm. RJJ has announced that Joe has hurt his hand but RJJ made the initial 20th September date up anyway. The hand injury story is probably Roy trying to save some face.
well that may be the casemate.while joe did say it was looking likely the 20/9 but didnt give 100% that it was going to be MSG. also with the fact willie limond did also confirm he was fighting on the 20/9 at MSG .so this would lead me to believe that was going to be the date. i dont think the boxing media would also be qouting that date if they didnt believe it either.
These hand injuries have been a joke, what does he do in training that causes him to hurt his hands so much? You'd think they'd have developed some kind of training method that reduced the chances of hand injuries. Has he not thought about seeing specialists like Mayweather did? Floyd suffered with hand injuries but I don't recall him having to ever postpone a fight because of it.
"Rumours were circulating that the event at Madison Square Garden was going to be called off due to legal action by Calzaghe's former promoter Frank Warren, but that has been quashed by the news of the injury." http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12183_3850996,00.html
This is very irritating. Joe needed this fight out of the way as quickly as possible. As it stands, Hopkins may have already beaten Pavlik before Joe even fights Jones.
This is priceless.....injured hand my ****....Calzaghe dumps his promoter and first time out everything gets FUBAR.
