based on the styles i would somewhat agree, i think calzaghe would school pavlik as he loves that straight line basic 1, 2 fighter, but roy may be just to old even though i think he has a great fight left in him.

I can't see either one causing him much problem, but if Roy gets any of his old stuff back, even for one night, like Samson in the good book, then Joe needs to be careful.

I agree. Joe never has problems with guys who come straight at him
while he struggles w/ counter punchers. Especially one who is a speedster like him. Everyone's making too much of kelly. He's a great
fighter and person, but he's tailor made for calzaghe.

I presume you mean on Joe.

I don't believe he would ever have "done a number on Joe" but he would have had a comfortable victory over Joe.

And everyone else who ever fought at 168.

I think most peoples problems is not whether Joe would beat him or not but the simple fact that a live competitive fight has not been made.

Glen Johnson, and Tarver both outpointed Jones, and Knocked him out 4 years ago. How is Jones going to beat Calzaghe 4 years later...

Roy will not cause Calzaghe more problems than Hopkins did

Roy will beat Joe. This is not for the money, but to proof he is still the best. His tighter defence and hopefully his old school of fighting will prevail at the end. Joe does not have the power to stop Jones so that also helps. What, Jones doesn't already know what most of you guys are all talking about as far as which style can beat Joe. I truly believe Jones is going to have one more great fight still left in him and that will be beating Joe.

I agree....I was watching some of Roys fights earlier today and the level of skill and ability are worlds apart, this of course despite Joes greatness.....Roy is the master, Joe will soon learn this painful fact

I think Joe has been talking too much **** to NOT fight Pavlik now. Joe is hyping the fight already for 2009.

Unless of course, he is actually scared of Pavlik and is trying to convince himself and the boxing world that he is blatantly superior and therefore a fight isn't necessary.

Joe, if that is your plan we aren't buying it. Give us what we want!

If Joe really said that, why did he need to mention Pavlik? Couldn't he just say Roy is a great fighter that can't be taken lightly. And why continue to say stupid **** like claiming he offered Kelly a fight back when Kelly was an unknown middleweight busy recovering from a career threatening hand injury?

Joe is just trying to convince himself it's okay to take the low road and retire without fighting the man he spent 7 or 8 months calling out.

Calzaghe is copying Jones and simply talking up his shot as hell opponent.
