I'd bet my house on Roy Jones Jr's 2009 return!

As I've said before the fight: it's the LOSER who's more likely to face Hopkins in a rematch. Joe never wanted to give the old man a 2nd fight as he doesn't do rematches and he dosen't have to if he keeps on winning. Also, Roy's win would've meant a Calzaghe rematch in the UK.

But now, as he was beaten, but not badly knocked out and showed some of his old stuff early, IMO Roy could finally consider a Hopkins rematch - and HBO might be interested! After all, Roy WILL look for another big fight and Dawson is nowhere near to be marketable on the biggest stage (yet), Tarver was beaten, Johnson (unfortunately and for a lot of us undeservingly) was declared as the loser vs. Chad, and the only other big name out there might be Kessler or Taylor.

But if HBO is still interested in Roy and Bernard, it's the rematch we're going to see...

    On Dawson-Calzaghe

You cannot deny 2 things: Chad IS a superb boxer and YET to step into superstardom and big money fights.

Therefore if he wants to fight Calzaghe, all he has to do is to go the Youngstown way: take the brave risk and fight the Old Fox, maybe the young gun in Kessler, and beat one of them more convincingly than Joe did. It's easy logic, just not so easy to do. But boxing will DEMAND the fight if he can show more than Joe did vs. his 2 toughest opponents! And on the marketable side, a superfight has to happen first, so if Chad really wants Joe, no rocket scientist needed to make the risky but right choice. Kessler and Hopkins are both looking for an opponent for early 2009. And both still looking for Joe. So there are 3 fighters, 2 of them should put on a fight.

They did it again - THE CALZAGHES!

Enzo and Joe Calzaghe are a great team together. The topic on the success of Joe and Enzo's part is pretty popular, and it seems most think Enzo's part is small.

I absolutely disagree. The father knows his stuff. You don't produce a P4P champ without trainer and tactitian abilities, and it's quite a stunning story how once a jazz musician became a superb master of the sport - without any previous experience! As a trainer, you not only have to understand how it works, you have to teach your fighters to undestand, which is quite a task!

If I were a producer or a film director, I'd most definitely pick ENZO in a Calzaghe biopicture, and do it the unconventional Scorsese way. 'Raging Father' (Or 'Raging Bullsh*t' as he often swears :D)

The guy knows his stuff... I'd say he's even a better tactitian than a trainer, predicts fights the way they turn out. Spot on with the WAY he predicted Hopkins would beat Pavlik. It's no coincidence that Joe's opponents often find themselves overwhelmed - not only the quantity of punches bother them, but the sudden disappearence of Joe as a target. Kessler, Hopkins and Jones all admitted they just couldn't figure out Joe. Kessler was the only one to have late success as he probably said to himself: 'you know what? F*ck tactics, I'll go out like a beast' - and what a 12th round he had! I think Enzo's part was huge to make Calzaghe as mobile, adaptable and tactically sound, and you know what? Listening to the man is 10 times better than listening to his son. :hi:

Definite candidate for trainer of the year.

(By the way, according to news sources, his musician career is ain't over yet. This Christmas Joe, Jo-Emma and Enzo (as author of the lyrics) will come out with a Christmas song... for real... :nut)
