Joe said Pavlik would be the ONLY fighter he would go back to 168 for, that was BEFORE Bhop induced amnesia made him forget he had been calling out Pavlik. I think Jones wants the 168 belts. I think it may be Jones wanting the fight at that weight. He doesn't care about the ring belt.

You appear to have missed his point. Calzaghe isn't talking about a fight with Pavlik now because his stablemate already has a fight with Pavlik upcoming.

If Calzaghe was talking about a future fight with Pavlik, then that would make it appear that he thought Lockett had no chance of winning.

You said that Joe is not mentioning the fight against Pavlik any longer - that is no suprise at all.

Someone from the same gym is fighting Pavlik so Joe is probably telling Lockett that he can/will beat KP.

So how could Joe call out Pavlik without undermining Lockett ??

EDIT - Apologies didn't read the end of the thread before responding.

Roger Mayweather tell us who you like between Joe Calzaghe and Roy Jones Jr?

Roy Jones would win that fight. He's got the edge in skills and speed. Calzaghe slaps like a girl. I can't stand all that slapping ****. The fight was close with him and [Bernard] Hopkins. I mean he didn't dominate Hopkins and Hokpins is forty something years old. Roy Jones got a little more pop than Hopkins too. Roy has got better head movement than Calzaghe and just flat out boxing skills.

thats Rogers analysis on this fight
    And i agree 110%:D

    **Breaking News**

Calzaghe moves up to Heavyweight to fight Muhammed Ali in Cardiff this November.

"I called out Ali in the late 90's but despite agreeing to come over for £150 he then doubled his pay demands and the fight was off"

"I think i would have beaten Ali then and i'm sure i will beat Ali now as neither of us are at our peak anymore etc etc"

"..Afterall i am now the legend killer"

The fight is expected to break indoor fight records as armchair fans up and down the country put on their travelling slippers.

Undercard to feature Amir Khant vs Terry Terikinov 74-0 (2ko's) and the hotly anticpated rematch between Enzo 'cheesy' Maccorone vs Blobby Gunn.

    Tickets from £500.

Show to begin at 4am to ***** the American PPV viewers.

Calzaghe = Mayweather. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

These guys want to make the most money possible to cash in on their fame, and you can't very well blame them. I think this fight is a joke and am afraid Roy will get stopped again, but regardless, it would be a fine payday for him, too.

I'm a RJJ fan and in his prime his power would have been the deciding factor and his work ethic was a little better. Calzaghe in the present will overwhelm Jones with his work ethic. If they fight in Wales, Jones has no chance of winning unless he's gets a TKO or KO.

I like both fighters - but i'm tired of all the talk about - RJJ is not in his prime and if he was he would do this and this.... There is only 3 years between RJJ and JC (RJJ is 39 and JC is 36) - it is nothing. They both are depending on their speed to win - thats only make the fight more even. I think JC will end up winning an exceiting fight, but I would'nt be surprised if he was floored 1-2 times. I can also agree about that RJJ is technical more skilled and has better pop. JC has a lot of indurance / born to be in fighting shape. I think JC has more heart and inner fire than RJJ has ever had. I think both fighters probably has lost some of the prime speed and pop - and so what - they are still the bests. Let the guys fight - the winner is the best. No bitching and - he was not in his prime this and that... It is nothing else but brain simulations - that never seems to stop - stay to the reality the real fight - what happened, who won. Ok that it. There are no excuses for the loser.
Only a refight with opposite winner can change the fact (to even).

For us RJJ fans, the idea of him getting KO'd and embarassed when he really has nothing left to prove isn't a very appealing idea.
