I'd like to see them both fight but not each other.

No doubt was left last time.


I want Mikkel to fight Hopkins (second choiceavlik).

And I want Joe to fight Dawson (second choice Johnson).

I'll follow Mikkel to Cardiff again. Next time he'll do the job, and Calzaghe knows, thats why it never will happen.

 

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, it alraedy DID happen.

We don't need to see it happen again.

Mikkel was 29 and Joe was 35.

Prime vs past prime.

Time for both to move on (or retire).

 

Firstly I don't think Kessler will ever beat Calzaghe. Calzaghe is just too adaptable and that is a massive strength. In his old age he has come in with brittle hands and reduced power and wrong strategies repeatedly but still come up trumps. People need to accept, he is a ****ing intelligent adapter and thats why he wins a lot of his fights post prime (which I would see as 5+ years ago)

Secondly this Calzaghe is old, so old. Even if Kessler did win he is in his prime and Calzaghe regardless of how well he has aged is no where near what he once was.

Kessler was pretty sure he would beat Calzaghe in the first fight. So was most of his fans. Now he knows he has to bring more, and in case a rematch is ever made, I feel confident he will bring more in terms of his physical condition and tactical preparations. Kessler will not have to fight, if he faces injury, like he did the first time around during traning camp. Put together I believe Kessler wins a rematch. Still Calzaghe is the smarter fighter no doubt.

 

I think Kessler will have learned enough to win a rematch at either weight.He cant keep taking easy fights in the hope that he gets a rematch with Joe though.There are other big fights out there for Mikkel and he needs to start taking them.

 

Once Joe has a fighters number that's that. Once he's figured them out he usually pulls away rather comfortably. If they both enter the ring 100%, regardless where this fight is held, I still see Joe beating Kessler by a wider margin than in the previous fight (which was a fantastic display by both men.).

 

Kessler at 168, I think he's know exactly what to do now, More of that 12th round. Plus Calzaghe not getting any younger/better.

Calzaghe would win again imo, he's a better boxer at range due to the angles, movement and southpaw stance as well as being faster and having the vastly superior workrate. If he boxes smart I cant see Kessler landing enough to stop him and I certainly cant see a win inside the distance, Calzaghe's ability to soak up a shot and come back is simply unreal.
