Close. He wouldnt KO Pavlik but it would be a great fight. And I'm not sure Kessler can beat Bute either, another great fight to be sure:good

Of course he can beat Bute. What is Bute going to do against Kessler? He doesn't have anything to brag about in that matchup.

Bute will have a few frailties exposed tomorrow, and people won't be asking can Kessler beat Bute.

Judging by the way Kessler performed against Andrade and Calzaghe, I would favor him over Taylor and Pavlik

C'mon TFFP. Bute is a very slippery and very intelligent southpaw. To assume Kessler easily takes this is quite ignorant no?

Glad to see someone finally put up a post about this. I have been on and on about Kessler's fight with Joe. Can't wait to see what the future holds for Kessler. hope he's over his loss, as his last couple appearances have been average.

Winning every round and KO'ing his opponent??

I think he would beat Bute easily - OK he would be up against a slippery southpaw, but it wasn't the fact that Calzaghe is a lefty that beat him - it was the ring smarts.

Agree about the easily part, but i think Kessler takes it handily. Think of bute vs calzaghe, and how bute would be cleaned out.

i love bute, but he needs a few more fights before he gets on equal footing with kessler.

What's so intelligent about him? I've not seen any great intelligence displayed by him, certainly not against Bika or Berrio. He struggled against the latter at times, Berrio is not a guy you should get outboxed by for periods.

I don't think he's that slippery either, his hands are always down, but he ain't Roy Jones. Against a precise puncher like Kessler he won't look slippery, and perhaps against the relentless pressure he won't. We'll see how slippery he is soon.

You touched on the southpaw point, and thats the only thing I think he has going for him. It makes Kessler's pinpoint jab a tad easier to deal with, but only slightly.

he has only had one fight since and that was a totally dominant performance against Dimitri Sartison who was admittedly a nobody.

Kessler isnt that intelligent either. Despite how highly I rate Kessler I think Bute is his toughest challenge and the fight would not be easy by any means for either fighter

He was nowhere near his best against Sartison, even though I gave him every round and he knocked him out in the 12th. On paper that looks a great performance, but having seen Kessler being so dominant against this level of competition in the past I'm not sure. His timing seemed a little bit off, the overall fluidity to his boxing wasn't as it can be.

I think he'll be back stronger against Haussler.

I agree and am hoping so for Kesslers sake. Andrade should be a fair measuring stick for how Bute and Kessler would match up

This fight was not even that close at all this guy is a total wanka. I was sitting next to a load of danish guys who were sing like hell to being as quiet as a mouse by about the eighth round when they realised Kessler was getting boxed all over.
