Calzaghe-Kessler still not signed.... Coincidence?

I don't think Kessler is worth as much to Joe's legacy as Taylor/Pavlik/Hopkins/Wright/Dawson would be - if a deal with Kessler can't be made, there are other options for Joe.

Here's a thought for you: BHop fights Winky in about 2 weeks time. It maybe time for Warren (if he hasn't already) to stop screwing around with the dithering Palle and wait 2 weeks and make a deal with the winner of Hopkins/Wright... it's only 2 weeks away and they've been trying to thrash a Calzaghe/Kessler deal for what seems like months!

Joe won't be fighting until September/October/November next so that leaves plenty of time for Bernard or Ronald to recover. Maybe this was in the back of Warren's mind all along? Whatever, I for one would prefer Calzaghe vs Hopkins or Wright... Kessler's young, he can wait - let him build up a bigger name, then the fight will be worth more.

 

Then screw them! He can't stump up the cash so forget them... what's 2 weeks when we've waited months for an announcement? Joe's last fight was 3-4 months ago - another 2 weeks will make no difference. There's more money in a Hopkins fight - HBO will help out for sure - more interest in the States etc... I'd prefer this fight also and not because I think Kessler's a bigger risk.

Horse-**** - they tried to make the Kessler fight happen but Palle couldn't put the money together... Hopkins signed a deal, then pulled out. Calzaghe made noises about fighting Taylor but as soon as he looked crap, they stopped chasing him and went after Kessler.

What else are the supposed to do? Pavlik's after Taylor.... Hopkins and Wright are tied up... where else should he turn? Mundine?

 

Are you saying Glen Johnson is a "big name"???? Come on, listen to yourself!! :rofl Johnson beat a shot RJJ and....... erm... held a couple of alphabet titles briefly. Joe's beaten a few of those already. An FYI, if a guy is injured and can't throw a punch let alone fight for 12 rounds, throwing away his potential earnings for the fight, is that unwise? Especially against Johnson.

And yes, he also postponed the Lacy fight because he was so petrified.

And what does Johnson bring to the table that none of the other Calzaghe victims don't have that would beat him?
