The biggest problem in Calzaghe's career has been Frank Warren. This is what happens when you run a boxer's career like a business - minimising the risk maximising the profit.

This is to certain degree also true for Kessler's career, who let's Palle make the overall decisions, and when you put Palle and Warren together, then you know they will fight like crazy for every penny. I blame those two ****-heads for this mess.

I agree. But this is a very crucial point in Kessler's career. Either he fights Calzaghe, and win or lose, it will be a great fight for him, where he will make himself known to boxingfans all over the world, and from then on, he will get the big fights if he wants them.

On the other hand, if this fight falls through, and he fights Mundine again (yawn), then we might have to wait several years until he gets to prove himself bigtime.

Exactly and that's why it's too bad it never happenen. I think Calzaghe is a great fighter, but it's annoying that these fights didn't happen. It leaves questionsmarks and it's obvious that Beyer and Otke were content not fighting Joe.

Now he wants to secure his legacy by fighting the best, but it seems like he could have done so earlier on.

For me this is about wasted potential because Joe has been too catious. (Or warren has been to greedy)

Kessler is a chance to prove him as a an ATG, but IMO it's to late - now Kessler will take over...

It's that same old Frank Warren smell all over this I'm afraid. He stifled Hatton's career until Denis Hobson let Hatton spread his wings, I really think Joe needs to get away from Warren and perhaps join up with Frank Maloney or another decent British promoter such as Hobson.

How many times have we seen fights fall through with Warren???? More than any other promoter I would guess although I dont have the figures. The man is sniffing round Hatton's pants even as we speak trying to cement Hatton's legacy by setting up a stellar clash against.......Souleymane M'baye!!! :patsch:patsch.

Please Frank.... just let your fighters off the leash, for boxing's sake.

I hope Warren ties this deal up, and I'll be more than happy to be proved wrong.

Maybe I'm just being impatient on Mikkel's behalf, because I feel that he's ready now;)

From a tactical point of view it would make sense to wait a couple of years and then fight Joie in his declining years, but hell no, that mindset has been customary in this division for too long!

The last thing I heard was that Palle is on vacation, that was about 2 weeks ago. It seemed that Warren wanted a shot at making this fight in Wales in september and apparently he has met Palles demands for doing so.

Unfortunately Warren after finishing the tug of war with Palle he has started another one with HBO. As far as I can understand then, both the money and the time is wrong. I am sure as soon as Warren atemt to hold the fight in wales in September fall through, then Palle will stick to his original offer of a November fight in Copenhagen.

Nomatter how hard I try then I can not really see what it is that Palle did wrong here.

 Yeah, like two small busy bees.

I hope so, considering that everytime Warren and Palle open their mouths, it's to badmouth or just whine about the other part in some way...

Both Pavlik and Dawson are new on the scene and still fairly unknown. If it is legacy you are complaining about why fight either of these 2 at this point.

Hopkins and Wright are locked up and really arent interested in fighting Joe.

All of the mentioned above dont even fight in the same weight class as Joe.

Kessler vs Calzaghe not only makes the most sense but it would be the most interesting. The pre fight hype is already built up.

Imo. the upside of Kessler and some of the other possiblities are pretty similar - granted. HOWEVER - the downside of NOT fighting Kessler is far .. FAR! .. greater than it is of not fighting anyone of the others.

Therefore overall, the Kessler fight makes the most sense for Joe in legacy terms.

    It's built alright:D

Maybe warren and palle have been playing us like all along, but I doubt that these two knuckleheads could do that.

I for one, no longer hold much hope for this fight. It now appears that the two camps are looking to make HBO the fall guy. It just seems like neither one of these guys is all that interested in this fight.
