Calzaghe (Lacy) vs Benavidez

Calzaghe would win but I'd prefer Benavidez. Just hate Calzaghe's style and his terrible punching technique.

 

I couldn't stand watching Calzaghe. But, he would out-smart, and outpoint Benavidez. Benavidez is certainly determined and well conditioned. But, he is a little too predictable and basic for a guy like Calzaghe. I also don't think Benavidez has the one punch power to catch lightning in a bottle and stop Joe. Calzaghe by close but clear UD.

 

I'll go with Joe as of right now,,since ginger doesn't want anything to do with Benavidez at 168 we might have to wait till Benavidez moves to 175 and fights Bivol or Beterbiev to see him in a great fight and get a better gauge of his abilities.

 

Benavidez walks right through him and knocks him out. Horrible stylistic matchup for Calzaghe. May be the worst type of matchup in history. Calzaghe doesn't have the power to keep Benavidez off him and he's not nearly as slick as people make him out to be. Benavidez 9th round KO

 

Calzaghe owns 168lbs. A defensless idiot like Benavidez gets Lacyied.

 

Benavidez walks right through him with his tight high guard. The power difference is huge. Yes Benavidez can get hit but Calzaghe is not hurting him. Horrible matchup for Calzaghe

 

Benavidez is a simpleton of a man. Zaggers would box rings around him and just nicely nicely nicely gently take Davids soul out.

 

A better spectacle would be B’z v Froch. Joe would have his bad hands to worry about, as per his interview in Boxing News.

 

Nah Calzaghe wasnt this slick boxer that people on here pretend. Benavidez will hit him and will hurt him.

 

That would be a more difficult fight for Benavidez because Froch could punch harder than Calzaghe. I still lean towards Benavidez. Hes much faster and he wont gas out like Taylor. Would be a great matchup.

 

For now I’ll say Calzaghe. That may change depending on how the rest of Benavidez’ career plays out

Benavidez will lose rounds but will eventually hurt Calzaghe and stop him. You gotta either knock Benavidez out our out box him for 12 rounds and Calzaghe wouldn't be able to do either
