If Froch beats Inkin he deserves a shot at Bute or Kessler. If he then beats either of them he deserves a shot at Calzaghe. So, in principle, he's only 2 fights maximum away from deserving a fight with Calzaghe. He'll have trouble getting past the first fight with Inkin though. At least Froch wants to fight the best though. He's prepared to try and back up his mouth unlike certain other prospective Calzaghe opponents.
Froch says he is better than them all...so far he has NOT backed his mouth at all...the WBC, thank God, forced Inkin upon him. I doubt he isn't glad he fights an eliminator in Spring, but he COULD have fought one against Bute earlier, but chose not to...so...so far he hasn't backed his mouth... BUT...if he were to beat Inkin, unless Bute impresses in hid first relatively easy voluntary defense, I would put Froch ahead of Bute in the Top 10...beating Inkin would be worth more to me than beating Bika and Berrio...he is just better and I am sure he will be up for this too - it's his last chance too, realistically.
Only if Froch beats Inkin and becomes the mandatory! Of course, Froch would say Joe retired only so that he didn't have to face him...lol
Calzaghe is established as THE best in the division now... He can pick his fights these days. Previously, it was a lot more difficult to find decent fights.
In order to add some weight to your point you really should provide a list of decent opponents that Carl Froch (or whatever his ****in name is) has faced, in order to provide a comparison. Otherwise people might think your thread is a load of bollocks.
in the past he had to fight who ever warren put in front of him&mandatories now he can pick&choose who HE wants to fight.
personaly i would have rather seen calzaghe v froch than 50% of the opponents warren put in front of calzaghe, although with 2 fights left for calzaghe , froch is not going to be one of them.
Froch maybe better than some of joes defences. but right now, Carl is a slotch of bug guts on joes windscreen, not worth the time or effort.
In fairness to Froch though, why should he have fought the same standard of opposition? JC has been a world champion for ten years, Froch has been pro for five.
