Following the amazing win by ring legend Bernard Hopkins over former light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal, the resume of the inimitable Joe Calzaghe has once again been significantly boosted.

As was the case following Hopkins' dominating victory over former middleweight king Kelly Pavlik, the 46-year-old's clear win over the top man at 175 pounds means that Calzaghe's triumph over the Philly phenom only grows in stature.

For Calzaghe, who scored a clear victory over a man who went on to handily take down both the top man at 160 pounds and 175 pounds, Hopkins' win tonight furthers Calzaghe's own claim to all-time-greatness.

As a reminder, Calzaghe landed the most punches by a Hopkins opponent ever, and he produced the largest losing-scorecard margin (5 pts; 116-111) ever suffered by the new light heavyweight king.

Congratulations to Bernard Hopkins, ring legend. I'm sure that Hopkins is getting an extra round of applause tonight from the nation of Wales, as well.

A parody thread, Paul? I know the same logic doesn't apply when Ward beats up Kessler worse than Calzslappy. Yeah yeah, that was a worse version. Right... plenty of fans thought Hopkins beat Calzaghe anyway.

An amazing night for Calzaghe, for sure.

Am delighted for him, tonight Calzaghe booked his place as one of the greatest ever.

Ummmm no. Why don't you ask Calz to give Bernard his rematch? Calzaghe said he doesn't do rematches but he did rematch that guy who's name I cannot even remember..lol

Quit being a dick rider. at the end of the fight, calzaghe thought he lost, his father thought he lost and was cussing him out the whole latter half of the fight, and calzaghe ran into retirement like a ***** even tho hopkins was willing to fight him in his own back yard. you guys act like getting sat on your ass and receiving credit for landing punches that no other fighter in the sport gets credit for is an amazing win. calghe's a ***** and will forever be remembered as less than hopkins. the fact that his resume is so dependent on one man shows how weak it is.

Also note that while Lebedev got the knockout against Jones, he never looked as dominant as Calzaghe. Joe is the TRUE WINNER of today's fights.
