Certainly seems that way, from what he's saying:

There is a remote chance that this could unfold, I suppose, but I don't see it happening. The only way I could see this occurring is if Calzaghe caught Jones in a sustained exchange and the ref stepped in to halt the bout. The more likely KO scenario is that Joe would get caught by a guy who once fought at 193 pounds.

    Your thoughts?

If Calzaghe threw punches like he used to he could do it. He used to really turn into his punches, i haven't seen him do it in a good few years though.

    Just bull**** trash talk.

Calzaghe has been foaming at the mouth in the build-up leading to this fight. Very little of what he's said is credible or worth considering.

Calzaghe has to bring back the fire/emotion he used to fight with; if he does that, and presses the fight, he has a better chance at winning. He looked sort of flat with no spark to him in the Hopkins fight. I'm sure he is completely motivated this time around.

Knock RJJ out? Not so sure I buy it.

He really has been saying all kinds of things, hasn't he? Best thing I've heard so far from him, after the Pavlik loss (I think this is the correct quote):

Right. Watch Calzaghe v Mitchell. Pre-hand injuries he was a completely different fighter.

They aren't overly hard punchers, Johnson has KOed 32 of 47 victories, and Tarver has only KOed 19 of 27 victories. Although i agree with you that Joes best chance is a tko victory, however as i said, he can throw a big heavy left hand over the top with all his weight behind it. Enough to put away many a man

Joe used to have quality power until he hurt his hands. A lot of fighters wouldn't be able to adjust when there power becomes a non factor like Calzaghe. Joe still has some pop, enough to earn fighters respect and keep them honest. Joe sets the pace early and when his opponent tires in the second half of the fight he tends to sit down a bit more. he lands some solid 1-2 shots on hopkins in the 2nd half of their fight. Joe won't knock Roy out, but if Roy tires out and sits on the ropes, I think Joe has a good chance of getting a referee stoppage.
