Only time will tell, as I have realized crystal balls don't really work in boxing. Anyway I'll bookmark this page to come back here once Gamboa is put with someone good.

Don't know who said he only ever lost one fight but it's certainly not true. As for the Olympics, there's a whle lot of history and politics behind why he didn't go. I find it too boring to go on about but in short, getting his arse whopped by a cuban? Extremely unlikely.

It's useless debating what might have been. It could have happened, it couldn't have happened, but the truth is it never happened.

Calzaghe lost at least 2 as an amateur, both pretty clear decisions.

I think that Calzaghe deserved the decision on hair alone.

I might be wrong but I think the whole "beating Chris Bird as an amatuer" thing is a myth.

Calzaghe had 5 loses i think according to his book 2 of those defeats were to the same person (jus cnt remember the name), n that fighter who he is fighting there, now works in a steel factory in wales its strange how things work out

We'll never know of course, so pretty stupid thing to say. However, what we DO know is that James Degale isn't as good as Joe as an amateur and yet he spanked the best the Cubans had to offer in the Olympic final:yep

He spanked nobody. That box fight, if it can be called so, was one of the dirtiest and ugliest performances by both boxers ever, I think.

He did enough to win by 2 points, but it can hardly classify as spanking.
