Calzaghe Loses as a amatuer

calaghe lost 2 amatuer fights this year to a romanian in the european juniors at welterweight opera or something like that and to michael smyth in the video now deleted in a welsh regional welterweight fight.

the following year he was undefeated at welterweight winning the ABA amatuer title.

calzaghe never lost a light middleweight or middleweight fight when he stepped up in weight as an amatuer politics not allowing him to go to the 1992 olympics.

 

Yeah I've heard he lost quite a few starting out. Funny thing is that when his dad was in his corner, he never lost. Ever. And the fight with Michael Smyth was the last fight he ever lost, amateur or pro.

And I'm not sure what point anybody's trying to make. Losing as an amateur is common, and it's not extremely meaningful.
