Calzaghe lover, hater, American, non-American

He's probably my favourite fighter in the world at the moment. I'm English, and he's been my favourite British Boxer since I started following boxing about 4-5 years ago, even over Ricky Hatton.

 

I'm American, and as a fighter I have great respect for Calzaghe as a fighter. I kind of didn't like the showboating against Jones...People say "It's something jones would have done," but that's sinking to another mans level!
As for the quote above...PLEASE. Does anybody remember the fact Calzaghe is 37?! Roy Jones is 39! Calzaghe has apparently stayed younger, and more active than Jones, but the man IS 37!!! As somebody else mentioned even being older he beat Lacy, and Kessler.
You got to respect this man as a fighter!
I don't think many people are saying he's the BEST, but I think most can agree he's one of the best.

 

I was thinking of the same thing too but it's not true. He did fight a young and dangerous Lacy and Kessler (however you spell it). Young or old Joe is just pounding through them. I used to think that Joe was just another fighter but now I think he's really good.

I'm British and I think Calzaghe is alright, but I'm not really a fan.
I do think some of the people on here talking about Calzaghe are RIDICULOUS because they don't give him any credit for anything, but they just make themselves look bad by being immature, rather than doing any damage to Joe's reputation.

I hate the man, but I ain't about to take away what he can do in the ring. He is an amazing boxer...

 

Scottish and I don't like the guy very much.

I dislike his fighting style, his showboating and his personality. He's a very good fighter but not a great one.

P.S - This has nothing to do with Welsh/ Scottish relations. The Welsh are pretty cool.

 

I'm Welsh, and I like Calzaghe but he frustrates me a lot, to the extent where I can hate him. Mostly by taking bull**** fights such as Jones.

He is now in a position where everybody wants to fight him. His answer is to try and fight the people he wanted (Or didn't as the case may be) to fight years ago, ie Hopkins and Jones.

What he should be doing is the Kessler route, ie Pavlik, Dawson. He pisses me off big time.
