    Kessler :dead
    Hopkins-past prime
    Lacy-exposed
    if he beats Jones-past prime

his 4 biggest wins...really against nobody in their prime who mattered..can he really be celebrated and put on a pedestal next to other great fighters with a record like his? No losses doesn't mean your great all the time, it can mean you didn't fight anyone worth a **** as well.

Even if Calzaghe beats Jones and retires I cant view him as a great fighter bc really when he was young and it mattered he never fought anybody..the competition was there too BUT he waited till he got older(so if he lost he would have an excuse) to start taking big fights with PAST THEIR PRIME American fighters. Whats great about that? Where is the competition in that. If JC wins good for him but it still doesnt make me or anyone with a brain rank him among the greats...

    Kessler was a unified champion

    Hopkins was Ring Magazine Champion

That is more than Glass Jaw Roy Jones has ever done. So, the correct thing to say is if Jones loses to Calzaghe he never beat anyone. :good

There are lots of possible replies to this topic. In fact it deserves none. I'll limit myself to a simple question:

Why is a top four P4P fighter not 'someone who matters'?

Oh my dear lord what does the man have to do. Politics didn't allow the major match ups until he exposed (the next big thing) lacy. Now he's fighting the people he has always wanted to. 46 fights undefeated is never an acheivement to sniff at. You see the people you percieve as nobodies are the sam opponents that have been touted to beat joe on these very pages before each time he stepped into the ring. He has been a good champion and made all the mandatories asked of him. I think over the next couple of years the likes of Bika, lacy and Kessler will come to the fore once more. I notice how one name seems to have been forgotten about over night. Pavlik anybody. Fickle fools. I've said all along that he would be talked about in the same light as lacy after his first defeat!!

thats how I feel cause he can pickem

-Hopkins was over 40 when they fought

    -Jones will be 39

    -Kessler was European

none of those are worthy of being praised

:patsch RJJ was P4P #1 for 10 yrs, and is the only man to win the MW, SMW, LHW, and HW titles, He has won 24 championship fights, and beaten 17 world champs, but you think Calslappy's cherry pickin ass is better....:rofl :rofl :rofl

Has Roy ever beat a undisputed, unified, or linear champion? The answer? Nope. :smoke

    I will ask again:

how many undisputed, linear, or unified champions did Roy beat in all of those weight classes?

Jones is perhaps the biggest handpicker of all time. And I am not a Calzaghe fan just pointing out some irony here.
