Kessler was a double title holder in his prime and excellent condition.

Lacy, a fellow champion, was favourite to KO calzaghe and was schooled so badly he still hasn't recovered

As for Hopkins, you can't be past your prime then not past your prime. People need to make up their mind about him. His win over Pavlik for me proves that he was not washed up and is still a good credible opponent. Plus at the time he was a highly rated P4P fighter and rated no.1 at light heavy.

Other relatively good names include; Byron Mitchell (who had just lost his title on points to Ottke), Omar Sheika (who at the time was an undefeated prospect) and Ritchie woodhall (another recently dethroned champion).

Yep, and it has now come to light that Kelly fought with bronchitis, so B-Hops owes Pavlik a rematch, because Pavlik was having a bad night and B-Hops got lucky :yep

The world does not revolve around Amercia.

The two best super middleweights in the world fought

    Calzaghe V Keelser

    and Joe Calzaghe wan

he is the only fighter in the history of the division to win

    WBO
    WBC
    WBA
    IBF

    Titles at Super Middleweight

Hopkins had no excuses he just could not dominate Joe the way he has done to others

he was cheating - faking low blows - trying to have a rest from the pace Cazlaghe was setting

Calzaghe has beaten every fighter he has faced and Jeff Lacy was exposed - by Joe - not by anyone else

so Calzaghe gets credit for hammering Lacy not for exposing him

Joe made him look ordinary - before that all the Amercians were thought he was the best thing since Mike Tyson

Dont forget Eubank, Bikka and Reid.

I just jumped to the last page, most of it seems to be the usual regurgitated rubbish with whiney fat yanks, so haven't missed much.

    Untrue.

How many young hungry undefeated top quality fighters has Calzaghe fought and beat in his career?

One. Kessler. Lacy has been badly exposed as a limited hypejob, even Calzaghe fans know that now.

And one, albeit a very very good win, is not enough to retire on. Great fighters' resumes have at least a few of these types of wins.

The only one left for Joe is Dawson. If he fought the guy who has just beaten Tarver and Johnson, and beat him, now that would be worthy of great credit.

So, after Jones, he will have beaten one guy who has beaten Tarver and Johnson and two guys who have each beaten one of them.

But he needs to fight another person who has beaten Tarver and Johnson to get credit!

Not sure how that means that Lacy wasn't 'young', 'hungry' or 'undefeated' when Calzaghe beat him?

FFS, Delaney and Veit were 'young, hungry and undefeated' if that is your criteria.

this forum is garbage, calazaghe is fighting everyone who is put in front of him. People have short memories, Frank Warren tried arrange a fight with hopkins years ago but they struggled to agree on money, the fight finally happened B Hop lost, You may not like Joe but stop bad mouthing him and start giving credit when its due. Hopkins beating Pavlik a few nights ago, has only made Joe look better because its shows the 43 yr old can still have it with the best, and Joe did not beat a washed up Hopkins. Cut the guy some slack he is right to retire after the Jones fight

why dont you tell the entire truth:

Lacy was stripped in the airport, the toll wouldnt allow him to bring his contact lenses into Wales, quite a problem because lacy has -7 on his right and +8 on his left eye. besides that he arrived just 30 min. before the fight. Lacy is actually a shitty fighter but had easily beaten Calzaghe could he have solved just one of his two problems.

Kessler had 7 fractures in his right hand and was to temporarily blinded from a scooter accident in copenhagen 3 weeks priviously, he actually had to strip his pants at weight-in to clarify why he was walking in the wrong direction, he had during the fight a helper on 17 row to tell where Calzaghe was situated, unfortunately for Kessler he had a severe incident of diarrhea just before round 5, otherwise Kessler would have won.

Hopkins Enzo promised Hopkins in between round 1 and 2 that if he would just let Calzaghe win this one, he could fair and square take the spot of Calzaghe in his upcoming fight with Pavlik, whom he had already paid 3 million in advance to perform really bad.

Manfredo had a bet with his mother about not letting his hands go once in round three, Manfredo told the ref. in advance but as it turned out he didnt believe him.

this is how it really is!
