Eubank, Woodhall, Reid, Bika , Kessler, Hopkins, Jones, Lacy, Beyer, Mitchell... that alone makes a mockery of your statement.

    Yes it is.

On paper Rahmahn didn't have much of a chance against Lewis, Quintana didn't against Williams, etc etc.

Many good fighters have lost to average opposition, it takes dedication and the right work ethic to prepare for every single opponent with commitment, which is why title defence runs akin to Calzaghes and Hopkins are relatively rare.

Oh yes, Calzaghe, boxings Peter Pan, teh only fighter whose age isn't a factor... despite them being from Calzaghes era... besides, Hopkins was p4p 4 and still is in the top 10 p4p ( not sure where but i believe its around 5 or 6)

On a p4p level, Calzaghes style would engulf and crumble Whitaker, his speed and velocity of power punches ( talking prime Calzaghe) would have been the perfect tonic for Whitakers defensive ability. As we saw how Whitaker lost, but no ones seen Calzaghe lose, we can't say calzaghe would lose, as no one knows how!

Please can you explain why you think this?

Calzaghe is a counter-puncher at heart and dislikes defensive boxers, he's admitted this numerous times. I'm not saying Calzaghe wouldn't beat him, i'm just wondering why you think the bold part above. We'll never truly know the way these fights would have gone IMO.

Most ducked man in boxing I think is an over statement, but he was ducked by several fighters. Calzaghe being called an All Time Great, sure i can agree with that. But you cant say he would have beaten the likes of Steve Collins, Sven Ottke and a prime Roy Jones for sure because it just never happened. I do think he would have beaten Collins, and Toney back in the late 90's, but Ottke and a Prime Jones I think may have been too much for Joe to overcome, especially Jones.

Well, you're right we will never know, however, Calzaghe gets no credit for adapting his fight in the middle of a fight, which we saw against Hopkins, and kessler, he has all the tools to become a stalker, and a counter puncher, within 4 rounds, were it going his way, I would see him adapting and breaking the mould of the fight, with the stanima, oputput, chin, and the then power he had, I could only envisage one winner.
