I can't believe that he has the gaul to moan about the number of belts when he is one of the prime beneficiary's of that system - he totaly exploited it.

 

Knocking Degale, and Froch like that at the end of his career is a bit sour, imo. British boxing has been kind to Joe over the years - the comments were very unstatesman like, imo. He could have just respectfully, and quietly gone on his way.

 

Oh **** off with that ****. The very reason that Calslappy fought those guys is BECAUSE THEY LOST atsch don't try to make it into yet another hard luck story to explain away the shower of **** that was the first 9 years of his bull**** WBO title reign.

Had they still been champions he'd have found an excuse to not fight them, like he did with everyone else that was remotely dangerous back then. Christ I even remember him making noises about the 'lethal' Antwun Echols about 5 times and ducking him every time

The fact that the cowardly **** is now criticising the very system that made him rich is hysterical to everyone apart from the Calslappy lovers who obviously can't see how ironic this crap is.

 

So Joe himself disagrees with all this bollocks that's talked about him being a 10-year World Champion then? Funny that cos I'm sure it says it loud and proud on the case of his 'released in time for Xmas' DVD

 

Yes it does matter when he got all the belts. If he'd got them all and defended them for a few years then it would have looked good, but he didn't - he ****ed off to 175 to fight old men instead, and then retired.

If he'd got all the belts before he was 30 and then gone up to 175 he'd get more respect here I'm sure. But he didn't, cos back then there was a monster waiting at 175. Calslappy couldn't even move up and exploit the WBO like he did at 168 cos DM had that belt and he'd have likely taken Calslappys head off too, so he sat back and waited....and waited, and waited.

The Calslappy lovers are defending the indefensible on this one, I'm afraid. Calslappy has absolutely no right to make these comments, none whatsoever.

 

When and where is your next "blow Joe for a pence" get together? I want to ask him to his face what it's like to never fight an elite fighter in his prime .. think you blow Joes would be able to stop slurping for a second to allow for a question or is just impossible to slow you guys up when Joey's in the room?

More like sour grapes from haters looking for any reason to try to **** on Calzaghe simply because they're haters. The only point I see him trying to make here is that boxing cannot progress as long as its controlled and diluted by promoters and bs belt orgs. Events are made to be circus events, not to weed out the hype jobs from the true champions. In an ideal world, boxing would be handled and regulated like say, the NBA. But that's not going to happen, and that's why the US only brought home 1 bronze medal in the Olympics.

 

Dude, the guy's about to retire. What do retired athletes do? The become analysts. Get used to him talking ****.

 

The fact that he was a 12 year world champion and yet the best in his division were not forced to face him and vice versa is the exact problem.
