All he got now on his undefeated record with 20+ defenses that is worth mentioning would be a 43 year old hopkins. He should do some damage control and pay kessler to retire, his legacy is on the line.
I felt Ward would win. Kessler is a good fighter but his defeat to Calzaghe showed he does not deal with handspeed as well as he could. Ward is fast and athletic. You don't become an olympic gold medal winner if you don't have something about you. I said at the start of the super middleweight series don't be surprised if 2 Americans named Andre get into the final. As much as I like Froch he did not deserve the verdict against Andre Dirrell. As for Arthur Abraham he looks beatable but he does not lose or know how to.
His best win now is over an aged Jones who had a terrible cut and even worse cutmen or a robbery against Hopkins. wave goodbye to hof.
Yeah I should've said a questionable win against a 43 year old hopkins. god, this is getting worse already :rofl
I'm a Calzaghe fan but this Kessler loss hurt his legacy some. Kessler was suppose to be his best win.
Well I guess Ward still doesn't have anyone on his resume worth mentioning. You all say Kessler wasn't a good win for Calzaghe now, Kessler isn't a good win for Ward...that's fair right? Now, I hate Calzaghe I think he's the most overrated boxer in the history of the sport. But Kessler was still a good win. He has Omar Sheika Veit x2 Lacy Charles Brewer Hopkins (43 years old but still a pretty good fighter but nothing compared to 10-12 years ago when in his prime.) Kessler Robin Reid Eubank (NO ONE ELSE AT ALL IS WORTH MENTIONING) As you can see that resume sucks ****, but you can't take away the Kessler win.
It WAS a good win, but it sure as hell wasn't an ATG-defining win. His best win was Hopkins, followed by Eubanks. Both were good wins against decent fighters, but both fighters were well past their prime especially Eubanks.
