Any objective fan that watched how their fight went down, would admit that no version of Calzaghe can beat a prime Hopkins.

Funnily enough, Hakkar was who Hopkins picked after deciding Calzaghe wasn't worth the risk because he wasn't enough of a "name" :rofl

Calzaghe beat Hopkins and RJJ, it makes no sense to diserespect Calzaghe and say these two fighters are better than him, Calzaghe is a better fighter and he has proved it.

That could be, or could NOT be...Hopkins looked better in shape and about 32 or so vs Pavlik,,,,Joes' career has been cursed with hand injuries, and NO, Hopkins would unlikely beat the Joe that fought Lacy...and Joe likes cleaner fighters:patsch

    :rofl

Calzaghe already beat him. If Hopkins wants to avenge that loss and his disgraceful John Ruiz type performance I think Bhop does indeed need Calzaghe. :deal

Hopkins's resume is far superior to Calzaghe's. Only a biased fanboy would disagree.

'Far' superior? Hopkins has years' worth of shite on his record too you know, all those defences without ever taking a risk or looking to unify are as familiar to good ol' B-Hop as they are to Calzaghe. His biggest wins are against fighters whose best years were at 147lbs, and an unfocussed Antonio Tarver. He gets massive kudos for the win against Pavlik, but much will depend on what Pavlik does from now (especially above 160 where the fight was made). Factor in that Hopkins lost twice to the uninspiring Taylor, drew with Mercado (who was ****) and had lost to both RJJ and Calzaghe and i think you'll find that there isn't as much in it as you make out.

calzaghe fought two 6 round fighters who were way past there best, and barely getting past one of them. before that he haddone nothing, held a worthless title for ten years, beaten no one, done nothing.

I'm not a Calzaghe fan and I like Hopkins but even I admit this thread is none too bright.

Calzaghe doesn't need Hopkins because he has the "W". Hopkins obviously needs Calzaghe, not for legacy, but because he's the one chasing the rematch???

    Make sense??
