NOPE! But then again, it's not the first time I've been labeled one either... It's always a bit of a danger to reply to a 5 page long thread when you only read the first post, ay? Still, off point or not, why does the "NOT AMERICAN" rule apply to Calzaghe more so than ANY other boxer in history? It's almost an excuse, no? "Oh, Joe is not American, so he is not as respected or ranked as high as he should be"... As if EVERY non-American in history has received the same treatment. Don't get me wrong, he's finishing his career very well. But kinda like a Mike Tyson (although I think Joe would be honoured to be mentioned in the same breath), Calzaghe will always be a *what-if*. "Yeah he had the skills, and a couple of "good" wins... but no real great fights and no real great fighters..." Hops at 43 is ARGUABLY a great fighter
Well, how many Chelski shirts have popped up in recent years? I don't have a problem with it, as long as they stick with them when Abramovich gets done for money laundering and they can't sustain those wages I'm a 'fan' rather than a supporter, because I don't go to enough games to call myself one. I remember watching a young Giggs burst onto the scene, as a Welshman he was my hero. Since then I always watched them I support Cardiff City
I just think it's strange the way people feel the need to associate themselves with success no matter how remote. Why is it not enough to just enjoy watching football?
That is exactly the reason I'm a fan, because I enjoy watching them, especially the characters over the years I don't usually tell anyone for fear of a lecture, but I got excited when the vertically challenged Argie banged that one home
