The Mirror talks **** at the best of the times, nevermind regarding boxing. Do not take it seriously until you hear from a credible source

That seems a huge purse and is totally unrealistic unless Hopkins/Calzaghe pulled in some huge viewing figures. I'd expect them to split $20 million between the 2 of them. Can't see Calzaghe earning that kind of money.

I know nothing of The Mirror, but unless they offered this ahead of time to try and distract Kelly tonight, I don't believe it. No way this offer is made prior to the Lockett fight.

You may well be right, but if either fighter ducks this fight, they lose respect in my eyes. This is a fight between champions. The 'lighter man' is willing to go up to make it happen. I think they both want this fight. That is the attitude that makes them who they are. Two trains on the same track headed towards each other......

I dont disagree, but I think pavlick is not experienced enough to fight Joe.

I think why would he risk everything when he could go on and be like Joe calzaghe has been.

    It woulod be good though!:good

I can't believe I have to resort to my cut and paste routine AGAIN, but I get tired of typing the same self evident truths over and over, so here we go!

There is a lot of truth to the old saying "styles make fights," but I really get sick of reading posts where people flatly state that Pavlik's style is perfect for Joe. They accuse Pavlik of "plodding forward," which is TOTAL bull****. He inches forward carefully behind one of the best jabs in the business today, a text book perfect 1-2, and a viscously accurate lead right.

These same folks are also always harping about Pavlik "attacking in straight lines." Yes he does that, BUT everytime his opponent moves laterally Pavlik uses his GROSSLY UNDER-RATED footwork to keep the poor ******* right in front of him.

And then there is this myth that Pavlik has no defense. You don't fight Zuniga, McKart, Miranda, and Taylor twice, and remain undefeated with no defense! These four fighters have 105 knockouts, and about 6 world titles between them. Pavlik does not slip a lot of punches, but he does parry them quite well. He also makes very subtle head movements that are just enough to take the sting off a punch. He'll move his head just an inch or so. This tecnique allows him to keep moving forward firing punches, and not break his rythym.

It is also a myth that Pavlik can't fight on the inside. The goofballs who make this claim probably haven't seen anything other than the miranda and Taylor fights. Go tell McKart and Zuniga that Pav can't fight on the inside.

I could go on and on, but I'll quit now. Pavlik KO10 Calzaghe. Everytime Joe squares up and starts winging slaps, he'll eat a right hand from hell. When Joe comes rushing in with his head down, Pav will hurt him bad with uppercuts. When joe goes to the body and leaves the whole right side of his head and face wide open, he'll catch 2 jabs and a left hook. Yes, it's true; styles make fights, and because of his style, Slappy joe was born to get Pavlikated!
