Class act, good on him for speaking out about this.

Notice he couldn't resist a sly dig at Hopkins!

I made a topic about this awhile back..

    "A bully Victim's Pay Back"

  4. Yeh this has been discussed before..... Every celeb seems to have a bullying story

30 lads coming round to beat you up isn't bullying.... he must of been a ***** to have that many guys after him

What is it then? Bullying makes me sick.... No one bullied me at school because they knew I would always go one step further then they would. Bullies don't like to get a taste of their own medicine.

That must have been terrible. He was from a small town so he must have felt rejected from his community too.

there was probaly a bit of macho / ego / jealously about here was this young good looking lad in Joseph Calzaghe

and boys be petty about it saying

"he thinks he is some kind of Champion boxer"

"do you think your hard or something"

"lets all get him after school boys"

Joe was "special" so they picked on him

I work with a guy who was in the same school as Calzaghe at the same time. I think he was either in the year above or the year below, I can't remember.
However he says he never really saw any evidence of Joe being bullied. He doesn't say that he was or that he wasn't, he just says he doesn't recall seeing or hearing anything about it.

Also, Joe had a bit of a reputation in the amateurs as being arrogant and big headed, and he wasn't particualrly well liked. Everytime I've spoken with him he's been ok, and I can only speak for myself, but there are plenty of people who seem to have plenty of stories of what a tosser Joe can be.
Again, in my own personal experience he's been alright, so I'm not claiming any different, just subjectively pointing out he does appear to have a bit of a reputation.

It obviously would and did have an effect, It's a very worthy cause and all bullies should be made to realise there actions cause misery.

    Good on you Joe.
