    Fair points, I think Froch is just making sure that if Calzaghe does comer out of retirement he's first in the queue.

    Current champions always call out recently retired legends .... how many times does Hatton have to call out Pretty Boy ? and how many other fighters are calling out mayweather ...even Vitali Klit is calling out the long since retired Lennox Lewis ..... its just part of the game !

    A good article. The Froch bit aside, its interesting to hear his plans.

    He seems to be serious about the promoting. I thought he had just set the company up for the Jones Jr. fight but he actually has plans for his promotion.

    Calzaghe retired rather than face a hungry determined Froch who was ready to put his lights out. In fact reminds me of Calzaghe slagging off Steve Collins who retired rather than facing him.

    Olu, there was no way that Froch would have beaten Calzaghe. None at all.

    Froch beating Calzaghe :lol::patsch

    It's honestly one of the more ridiculous things you'll ever hear. What has Froch got to worry Calzaghe? Is he a noticeably harder puncher than Kessler or Hopkins at LHW? Is he anywhere near as accurate with those shots, does he carry the same handspeed?

    Does he show anything that is going to outbox Calzaghe over 12 rounds?

    The answer is categorically NO.

    I agree with you TFFP i think joe would take froch to school with a lopsided UD

    he doesnt have the power to stop calzaghe and he comes forward throwing once off single shots. joe would out jab him and flurry him to oblivion

    As for Froch calling out calzaghe, he just wants to get paid. he knows he would be a career high pay day and at the end of the day hes a professional and this is a business

    It's a fair comment from Joe. He has earned massive amounts of my respect for staying retired and hope he doesn't make a comebck. That said as much as I like and rate Froch he seems taylor made for Calzaghe and Joe would be leagues ahead.

    If Froch can establish himself as a major name, does anyone think Calzaghe will come back and fight him? :think

    I hope not. I have a feeling that the Roy Jones fight showed Calzaghe at the very peak of his abilities and he would be on the slide now if he continued. You can only cheat time for so long and he's not getting any younger.

    Calzaghe "peaked" against Lacy. Sublime concentration, speed and coordination. Even losing a step, he's fast enough and mobile enough to make Froch look foolish.

    Froch doesn't pose the same stylistic problems that Kessler did early on, he doesn't have the hand speed Kessler does and he doesn't have the defense that Kessler does.

    Froch should look to beat taylor (which is possible) and get over that fact that Joe was always out of his reach. Which, ultimately for his career, was a good thing. If Joe had beaten him prior to the Pascal fight, Froch would have been done for.

    Well put Joe, maybe Froch will put a lid on it now and concentrate on his own career, after all he doesn't want to come across as a little bit thick....
