I understand exactly what he is saying. First of all... Hopkins was rude before, during and after the fight. Never showed him respect at any point. Joe's critics give Joe absolutely no credit for beating Hopkins, using Hopkins age as a sudden excuse for that fight... of course that age problem vanishes when he fights Tarver, Winky, and Pavlik. Joe has absolutely nothing to gain. He has already beat Hopkins. People who aren't biased already give him credit, and his critics won't give him any credit for beating an even older Hopkins a second time. IF he fights on... he should move forward, not backwards or sideways.

No matter what people think, it was Hopkins that gave Joe the oppritunity and Joe does not want to return the favor.

  4. **** Hopkins he dosen't deserve ****:-( he didn't even act like he wanted to fight the last half of the 1st fight and faked getting hit low to buy time, and he was the one doing the trash talk before the fight, he lost so live with it:nut

Joe can retire with his 'O' intact. If he elects to fight again then Hopkins is a safe defense. Bernard is 43 years old. I think Dawson clowns Joe. Also, I think Glen Johnson pushes Joe to the limit.

Hopkins had his chance and Joe was too good. Simple, get over it. Time will heal the pain.

if joe was too good he should have no problem beating him in the rematch and if he hates the guy why not take any excuse to beat his ass and erase any doubts about the first fight?

Why give another pay day to a guy he hates and go throught another round of promotional tours listening Hopkins talking sh*te.

sounds like Joe is hyping up the rematch, some tension and bad blood sells...fight Johnson or Dawson Joe. Johnson knocked out the fighter you decisioned, RJJ. Dawson just beat a fighter that knocked Jones out. Nonetheless, Joe can retire with his '0' intact and a great career.

balls to hopkins ,he had his chance and blew it,it is only fair to give up and coming boxers a shot and try and make a name for them selves,
dawson deserves a shot next i think, and if he beat calzaghe imagine how famous he would become in a nano second.
everyone would be saying dawson this and dawson that.
but he will probably lose like the rest of them but deserves the chance the others had.
